Es gibt auch viele Gelegenheiten, direkt an das Wasser zu gehen oder sogar zu baden. Wir waren ca. 2 Stunden hier und haben längst nicht alles entdeckt. Ein Nachteil ist allerdings, dass hier viele Hundebesitzer mit ihren Hunden spazieren gehen und da es dort keine Mülleimer gibt, liegen alle paar Meter volle Hundekot-Beutel auf den Wegen. Vielleicht ist es am einem Wochentag schöner hier, aber am Sonntag war sehr viel los und das mit den Kot-Beuteln war wirklich nicht schön. Really lovely quiet hike. Small in summer/dry times and grand in wetter. Easiest way to get there by car is parking at Pontneathvaughn road car park and then following the country trail that starts behind the Angel Inn. At the gate there is an information board about the area and the falls. It's about a 40min to get to the from the information board. On a hot July in 2025 you could along the trail that follows the with no hassle at all. Multiple places along the route to go down to the for a dip in the pools at have formed along the way up. Mountain biking is also possible but you can't cycle over the wooden bridge that crosses the 5 mins from the only to the view point straight ahead. There is a railing should you want to lock up and go for a dip and a bench to sit and watch from a distance. The wooden bridge allows you to go on the East side of the and also leads to trails that go to the top allowing you to the flat bedrock above on the dryer times of the year. Summer/dry months also allows a small rock beach in front of the so you can sunbathe and go swimming in the large pool that forms below. The pool is deep in many places which allows jumping from above but always check before doing so as rocks and trees fall down here daily and can always change the footing of the landing. This area can be busy on warm days but not so much that it is packed out and unenjoyable. Many small children and elderly walking and swimming here also so it is very accessible and fun for all. There is a walking trail (Elidir Trail) around the from the wooden bridge leading through the forest where more can be seen too on the Neath, so many hours can be spent here enjoying the whole area. What a stunning walk, so peaceful and beautiful. Seeing the at the end was the perfect reward. Be careful when stepping on the very slippery rocks by the edge. I did slip up (my stupid fault!). Did also manage to see a couple of mink on the edge. Parking easy on a weekday but I could imagine it gets busy on a weekend. Free toilet facilities at the start. One of my favourite walks. Plenty of street parking although certain times you do have to drive around waiting for people to leave. Stunning views along the way to the waterfall. Easily accessible for the most part although as you get further along the it's not suitable for wheelchairs. Remember to wear suitable footwear as it's very muddy during the winter months due to the lovely Welsh weather. There are public toilets just before you head off on the walk. Please remember to leave no trace. Quite sad to see the last few times that people have picked up after their dogs but have just thrown the bags down the side or in the trees. But managed to do it slightly further up the river. So very happy memories. The footpaths are generally ok but could do with a little maintenance in places. There are good, well maintained footpaths along the river, making it easy for most people to access. From the bridges, the paths to the main are a bit more difficult, especially on the left hand side going upriver, but this latter one is the one to take if you want to behind the waterfall.
