Postcode does not take you there, turn off down Yearsley Moor Bank and park at the side of the road/track. Gets busy on a weekend, but a big enough area to not be crowded. A few trails to go on, mostly level with slight inclines. No facilities so take what you need This was my first visit to Yearsley Woods. A beautiful part of North Yorkshire. There are well maintained footpaths with a few hills BUT there is a huge lack of signage, just a few random arrows. You arrive at a junction and do not have a clue which way to go. I was attempting to walk to Ampleforth which was meant to be 3 miles. I got lost on several occasions as I kept losing the signal on the phone for the sat nav. I got lost again on the way back to Yearsley. This can be quite a worry when you are on your own. I will be back though as it's such a beautiful place. Superb woods, my favourite in North Yorkshire. I like to explore the on warm, sunny, cold, rainy days. Each weather shines the differently Lovely place to walk ..don't rely on the map it's useless...we got lost. If it wasn't for a kind farmer called James who drove us back to our car we would still be walking around lost. There's no toilets nearby or cafe and it's not really suitable for pushchairs unless it's a 4 by 4. There's no seats to sit down either. Quiet and beautiful. A gem, perfect for family walks, dog walks, cycling and horse riding. I did notice some dog poo bags about by a few selfish minded owners which was sad to see though, which spoils the place for others. If it doesn't change I would suggest banning dogs to maintain it's beauty for others. Great for walking, especially with the dogs. Can either stick to the set paths or find the trails through the woods. Two nice lakes there as well. Handy free car parking Lovely first exploration of Yearsley Woods, needs more time to get to know the trails fully. Worth more visits to explore further. I love to dog walk or horse ride in Yearsley woods. It's quiet and peaceful. Even when there are lots of people there, it's such a large space you don't really see many others. It's hilly, so very good for getting fit!
