What a wonderful stay. We have past many times when out and about on the motorbike, and always said we would call in one day. Decided to take Hubby for his Birthday. We stayed overnight in Belasyse Room with Four Poster bed which was all lovely and clean,and very comfy to sleep on, en-suite again lovely and clean,with toiletries and fluffy towels. All staff very welcoming,cosy snug rooms with log burner or open fire, decorated with twinkly fairy lights and candles to add to ambience. Our evening meals and cooked breakfast were outstanding. Would definitely recommend stay here, and will be returning in the near future. Can't sign off without giving the resident cat "Pancake" a mention, friendly and beautiful 🐈🐾 Had an evening meal there. The meat pie looked and smelled delicious 😋. Apparently it was. I had a light bite fish and chips and it certainly lived up to its title. It was a bit disappointing but since it was small I indulged in a sticky toffee pudding which was possibly the best one I've ever had . The staff were very friendly and pleasant and efficient. It was also dog friendly which is a bonus . Not the easiest place to find but worth the effort. Staff are brilliant despite being young! The food centres on specials with a basic lunch menu. We keep going back for its quality and never disappointed. Value for money certainly and drinks also not ridiculous prices. Great place to escape from overpriced mediocre offerings in York. This is a great place to stay. We were here for 2 nights and a party in the cartshed. The staff were all and consistently very helpful throughout our stay. Our dog wasn't very well and they gave her some roast dinner which she loved. The room was v comfortable and the breakfast good quality and well cooked. The garden is a lovely place to relax. Would happily go back. Amazing hearty pub grub! We had the Sunday dinner and steak and ale pie, very tasty - compliments to the chef. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Fantastic atmosphere, and situated in the lovely village of Coxwold. Would highly recommend.
