After a fantastic tour at the Penderyn distillery, we decided to have lunch at the Red Lion Inn. Our luck put us by the cozy fireplace, and the dishes we ordered were not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious. This charming, centuries-old country pub is nestled on a quaint country road, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. The friendly staff served us with a smile, and we savored every bite of our meal, knowing it was made from locally sourced ingredients. The menu featured a variety of drink options to complement the flavorful dishes. While some might find a few menu items a tad on the pricey side, I personally believe that the superior quality of the food, combined with the delightful ambiance, justifies the cost. An excellent choice for those who appreciate good food in a delightful setting. Absolutely brilliant food, on a par with some fine dining restaurants in London. It however must be remembered that this is a public house and serves walkers etc and people popping in for a beer (or three). There is also an outside area with pods and a pizza stove, all in all it’s heaven to me. Excellent beer as well!😃 Really good quality, beautifully presented; and inventive flavour combinations. This is fine dining but affordable - starters about £9; mains £18; dessert around £9 so meal for two with three courses and a coffee is still £70-£100. The 12 hour slow roasted beef and lamb (our mains) both have a very soft texture, quite unlike home cooked. The cucumber pannacotta is definitely worth trying. We celebrated my partners 60th birthday here and it was 😍. Food is really well prepared and presented. Delicious and fresh. I can only comment on Sunday roast which was top notch! It was generous portions, perfectly cooked I had the beef and my wife had chicken. We both very much enjoyed and left very full and happy. The inn is very quirky and cosy, yet airy. It has a very professional branding style. Would definitely come back. It was not cheap but was quality. Service was attentive and quick, had our 5 minute check. I Would recommend booking, we booked a week in advance. Not sure how easy it would be to get a table just turning up. Music was nice and relaxing. We found this pub online and decided to attend after reading all the great reviews about it. The pub set in a part of the country with a small winding road leading up to the car park with lots of spaces available and outdoor seating should you choose to brave the weather. We sat inside and ordered our food and drinks fairly quickly. The drinks arrived soon after, but the food took quite a long time to arrive. Although the dinner menu was small, the pork tenderloins and beef fillet that we ordered were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. We would visit this establishment again as the food and drinks were great and the atmosphere was friendly. The only let down was the delay in service for various things such as food or the bill never arriving. We would recommend! We arrived here with a booking and our camper. We had a welcome and a couple of drinks. We had a table booked and were fortunate that they had their French night. Stand out meal. I would say very good value for money as although at the upper end of pub pricing it was clearly restaurant quality. We will go back and fell great we found the place. Waterfall walks up the road no distance. Ate here in November with my OH. Food was absolutely delicious and good value. Service was excellent and the place is just a warm, friendly place to enjoy a meal. My brother has just got my parents a voucher for here as a Christmas present. Can totally recommend. Popped in here for lunch this week while visiting the area, really staff and very dog friendly ( we have three ) we were made to feel really welcome and the food is absolutely delicious Beautiful pub with very traditional decor and a fantastic beer garden out back with a converted shipping container selling pizza as well as their own food inside. The staff were very pleasant and the food was absolutely amazing!! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Absolutely hands down the best pub I have ever been to. We came in out from the stormy weather to the cosiest atmosphere, greeted with warm service who were quick to find us a table by the crackling fire. We were quickly given a small menu (always a good sign of an excellent restaurant). We had a roast each and it came with all the sides, loads of veg, loads of everything. Roast potatoes and the butteriest mash. Filled with chatty Welsh people and beautiful decor and artwork. The sticky toffee pudding was TO DIE FOR!!! Everyone get your selves down to the red lion!
