Bought some bait from the small but well stocked on shop. Fishing was very good with a nice mix of species caught. Lovely tranquil location with lots of wildlife to watch whilst fishing. A solo this fishery, facilities and very and knowledgeable owners. Some sized carp here along with a variety of silvers etc A small but suitable bait/tackle shop on site, perfect for all of your needs whilst on site. Great pegs and space in between them. Really noisy engineering work that starts at 8.15 and goes on, and on. Fabulous place, you can "circle the wagons" if you're a large group or tuck yourself away it's up to you, Sally is terrific and you're made to feel relaxed, it's a nice stroll around the fishing and ample fields to walk you 4 legged companions... it Lovely site..So friendly.. Love the fact we could pitch anywhere.. Showers good.. It was very wet so we did get stuck but Tractor arrived in minutes to tow us out Very welcome and nice,level,grassy site. We were here for the festival in the adjoining field so it was busy but not crowded. Two lots of facilities which were basic but clean; everything we needed. There's a walk to the nearby fishing lake,which was pretty. Very happy. Beautiful and camping location. It is a true shame though that they have recently installed the most ugly and nature damaging fence around the lakes. I was gutted to see that. Have been coming down to thorney for years have lost count have been with our girls and grandchildren lovley spaces to pitch dog freindly . the we call it our 2nd home thankyou ❤️ I've been to this camping twice now and I absolutely it there. The view is gorgeous, facilities top notch and staff super friendly. that its next to the best car boot sale as well open every Sunday. There is no rooms. It's camping. Fantasic place... Quite locations. Lots of walking to be done and plenty of space to camp due to no restrictions. I went there twice. I the lake and the surrounding. I the naturist event held there once a year by the British Naturism. Hundreds of people attend in the event from all walks of life. Could be families with young children too. Everyone is so respectful and friendly. Lots of temporary showers and toilet units. Lots of programmes throughout the week for the Nudefest in early July The most chilled relaxed and dog/child campsite I’ve been to. Toilets clean, lovely walks. for kids to explore in freedom and safety. for artists walkers and sooo quiet no car noise. I it here. Fishing lake is now being overtaken by weed, at present rate it won’t be long before it’s unfishable. Such a shame after all the hard work that has been done to turn the lake around. Now sure I will visit again which is a shame as it’s always been a local place to fish for me.
