A handy little spot you’ve got a toilet block which is usually relatively clean and a nice café where the prices are certainly a lot better than some of the services. Also very handy if you have a dog because there are some green areas where you can let the dog out of the car to have a little run A convenient off, plenty of parking. Spacious serving very good, reasonably priced food served extremely quickly. I can recommend the Small Breakfast 😋 The best breakfast by far.....great service, fantastic food. Plenty of space and plenty of parking spaces. 👍👍 customer and competitively priced. Indoor and outdoor seating available for whatever your preference is. Not a lot to of choice on the menu but the cheese and bacon burger I bought for £7.50 was really good. The gentleman in the kitchen was really professional. Would highly recommend. Helpful, speedy, friendly service. Reasonably priced tasty bean burger and fries. Quirky and interesting decor. Lovely atmosphere and a much better spot than many a motorway has given us… £22 for two meals, 2 drinks was fine by us.. interesting decor too… A relaxing place to stop, for a Road place. for a picnic but the serves a selection of the usual food and coffee, the itself is nice with indoor and outdoor seating. Prices were pretty too. I imagine at peak summer time it can be hit and miss with being too busy. We visited at the end of September. Cracking place to stop. Reasonable prices and grub. Staff brilliant 👏👏👏👏 Perfect stop-over rest on the way to or from the West Country. has a decent range of food and drink or bring a picnic. There is a range of exercise equipment for youngsters to burn off some energy. Apparently there is a bid do turn this into a station, sign the petition in the if you agree this area is best staying as it is. What a lovely place to that isn't your average rubbish station with crap fast food. This place is full of home cooked meals, homemade sweet treats and yummy food. We thoroughly enjoyed this place and such a breath of fresh air compared to the Co operate services with their mcdonalds and burger kings. Exactly what we wanted after a long drive and a lovely cosy feel inside and out. We hope this place never leaves and can for many years to come when we come to Cornwall. The food really is the best I've had in a long time but we weren't expecting such big portions and it was lovely. A place for a if travelling the A303. Food reasonable price for services. Toilets clean. Only downside is the is no dogs which if it's raining is not so end up eating in the car. A dog friendly covered area would have gained an extra star!! This is a lovely spot to off for a break and get some delicious food, staff super friendly and facilities including free WiFi. Disclaimer - this is not a review about the food, we have no issues with that. Have stopped here for many years as its a place to walk the dogs and have a break. They've been updating the toilets for several months and finally got to see them recently. All I can say is they are horrible now. They are dirty, no paper, no soap in the washers. They were a little tired but were always spotless. I'm guessing they no longer employ someone to look after them during the day. A place to for a break and so nice to get away from the corporate service. Family owned and you can tell by the excellent and care to its patrons. place to eat meet and just to head too. Brilliant for us bikers that go at weekends too. Been going here for ...50 years. From when it was just a hut to its current state. Back then I was a biker and their bacon butties ON WHITE BREAD PLEASE were the and still are, second to none. If you are travelling with Fido in the back of the car, it's a place to let the dog have a leg stretch, read the peemails and have a drink of water. Toilets are functional ...no more. for a quick slash and dash. Such a Shame ! I have been coming to this for over 30 years going back and forth to West Country, seen this go from a 24hr with honest food at a realistic price, over the years it has reduced it’s opening hour ( which I do understand due to cost ) but the food had gone down a little and prices have now risen which I think is now over priced, there are now more pre packed sandwiches and cakes which are pricey, I went in last week and asked for scrambled egg on brown toast to which I was told that they cannot do scrambled egg on Saturdays as they are to busy and only fried eggs were on offer, I went with the fried eggs and another plate of baked beans on toast, food arrived quickly on white toast, beans not really hot and fried eggs hard, two cups of tea and £15:00 later. Not value. I think that in future if I want poor food with no real option I will go to the fast food chains that are increasingly available on the A303…please do not advertise that you can cater for individuals when you might be able to do that when it is not busy or is convenient for the business. Brilliant roadside at a picnic area. choice of food, perfectly cooked, reasonable prices, fast & friendly service. Open long hours, especially in summer. Eat in or takeaway. Outside seating too. Clean facilities. I do feel as u drive in the place needs some sort of a way to slow the speed of the cars down. Twice today 2 different cars drove past us at speed this is totally unacceptable as we are in a car park. U need to sort this out sooner rather than later Cartgate services and its lodge are a unique gem among the endless corporate stops. My kids and I absolutely love it here. A nice quiet spot off the road surrounded by trees. The food is great, varied, decently priced and customer is spot on. Very clean too. Proper food, genuine people and a cosy atmosphere. Fantastic visit.. here you’ll find a beautifully built building.. the architecture is in the style of a run down over sized barn, renovated into a cafe. Just outside you’ll find the garden with original wooden benches dotted about the lush greenery. Also, conveniently, the garden contains an outdoor gym that can be used to burn off that breakfast. Plenty of litter bins, styled in Victorian black, elegant but predictable one might argue, I do find it out of place with the shitty rustic feel of the cafe. The toilet block has been recently renovated with a latest toilet technology. This was the highlight for me as it added an interesting science fiction element to my toilet experience. Dotted around the stools you’ll find messages requesting sexual encounters, although vulgar they do add a touch of rawness to the place, interesting art choice but surprisingly completes the experience. I left this place feeling dirty and maybe that was the intention… I was taken on a wild adventure into the life of a rough trucker. I enjoyed this experience and it was a change of pace from the regularly station experience. I give these a young gent rating of 5 stars (dirty raw, shitty, with clean intention) Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
