What a surprise to discover, such an interesting place to visit, the is free and we spent at least an hour walking and discovering different sculptures. There is a dog Café, we had a coffee and walnut and the lemon drizzle cake both was to die for. Lots to see including a and plenty of choice of different gift shops we spent a small fortune. Can't wait to return, plenty of Free parking too. Really fascinating museum. Done really well. There is a fantastic film at the end, 40 minutes long but well worth persevering with. Great little and gift shop. All the staff were very friendly. Will write more if we return didn't have time to go to museum, or manage to get there for the guided tour (£6) at 11am, will definitely do that next time. Only working wicker farm in Somerset, nice and 👌👍👍 apple crumble cake.. We had a first here and were not disappointed. We arrived to see the dinosaur and my lo was super excited. Entrance is free. The cost £3.50 which was excellent value. The sculptures were amazing and the took you around the forest area which is not too far for little legs. There were other walks which were more suited to older kids. On the day we went we were lucky enough to see some of the newborn lambs which we got to stroke and even fed their mum's 😊 We took a picnic and there were plenty of places to eat. Staff were super - would highly recommend a 👍 Beautifully curated small exhibiting the breadth of useful products made from Willow. If you have the time, the guided tour is worthwhile especially the insight into Charcoal making. Super fun and really child friendly. The sculptures were amazing. Would definitely like to again. Arrived in time for the tour. 11am Monday - Friday. Very interesting and informative. Ellie answering lots of questions. We then went on a short walk up the hill to see the levels. Then back to the for soup of the day and cheese on toast. A few vegetarian options available. staff, nice food. Well worth the drive. Will have a look around the next time. The dinosaur through the woodland was excellent. There's the option to do two small circular walks through fields and partly along the River Tone (1km and 3.25km). The slightly longer one takes you up Windmill Hill and you can get a good view over the levels. There's also the Lemon Tree cafe, Strippers gift shop, and a (pay to enter). Tours are £6 at 11am on weekdays. The sculpture workshops they do look fun! I didn't go in but there also looks to be a Pilates studio, a model ship repair workshop, and possibly a florist. The 51 bus stops just outside. Interesting centre, with a variety of quality displays - particularly the ships display at the end of the main shop/display area. This was a quite outstanding display, overseen by a FAA (Fleet Air Arm) veteran- who oversees and performs many of the restorations which are on display....quite the best collection I have ever seen ! The Lemon Tree served delicious food too ! VERY well worth a visit, even if a little off 'the beaten track'. Great for kids...only rides and grooming available. Loved seeing the ponies at close quarter. Teen boy was a bit bored. Teashop sold cake and crisps but not hot food. Had a fabulous here, with the tours starting at 11am. The tour guide was and professional, taking into consideration the needs of the group. You got a great look at the process, including behind the scenes. The shops on site offer a taste of Somerset too. Highly recommend and want to come back when it's warmer and do some of the walks. Went with my grandson and done the dinosaur ! He loved finding the dinosaurs the numbers and letters. Hot a scrumpy hot chocolate with marshmallow and cream after, then brought a little basket to collect our eggs at home We came through a village to get here and plenty of parking and dog friendly. We walked round the Shops and met two members of staff who came to see our dog's. Had a coffee at the lemon tree café and managed to get my wife a birthday present which she was told was made by a gentleman in the village who hates throwing wood away and ma.kes wooden houses. Also you can book lessons on making your own wicker animals which would be interesting to do really enjoyed it . Had the best day here. A very informative and interesting tour of the site, a to the and a fab serving tea, coffee cake and lunches. Bought a gorgeous basket in the and a couple of locally produced items in the gift shop. Spent 5 hours here and loved it all. Now have to go back to explore some of the walks. Thoroughly recommend this place. We arrived late in the day, around 4pm. We loved the museum, particularly the TV presentation which was fascinating and gave us a great in depth view of how things used to be and how they are today. It was amazing to see the range of wicker products throughout the ages. The lady in the was very cheerful, helpful and was closing up when we had gone through the but we were free to use the loos and to take as long as we liked to wander around the numerous walks where we saw the growing in a most stunning area. It was the highlight of my Somerset holiday and should not be missed. Great place to visit. Interesting museum, good trails for little ones with wonderful sculptures and opportunities for day courses learning to weave willow.
