Such a lovely experience. The Church is always for people to or pray. It's very peaceful and lots of history to see. The has such fantastic features and looks like something out of a Harry Potter movie If you ever get a chance to visit, DO IT..... Stunning wedding venue, beautiful grounds. Great view to the sea. Lots of greenery. There was security around at all times in case tou need anything. Clean throughout. Had a great experience and parking is available What a beautiful location! We visited here for the Street Food Circus and can't wait to come back next year! It's absolutely beautiful here! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review: St. Donats - A Delightful Experience! My family and I recently had the pleasure of visiting St. Donats Castle, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome that immediately made us feel at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which set the tone for the rest of our visit. The itself is an absolute gem! It has been meticulously preserved, allowing us to step back in time and immerse ourselves in its rich history. Exploring the castle's nooks and crannies was like a journey through the past, and we were in awe of the architectural marvels it had to offer. But the true highlight for us was the breathtaking views. Perched atop a hill, St. Donats provides sweeping vistas of the surrounding countryside and coastline. It was a photographer's dream come true, and we found ourselves captivated by the natural beauty that unfolded before our eyes. As we strolled through the castle's garden, we were greeted by an oasis of tranquility. The garden was immaculately maintained, bursting with vibrant colors and fragrances that delighted our senses. It was the perfect place to unwind and soak in the peaceful ambiance. Our wouldn't have been complete without the fantastic guide who led us through the castle's history. Their storytelling skills were exceptional, and they managed to bring the past to life with fascinating anecdotes and historical insights. The guide's passion for the was evident, and it made the tour all the more engaging. Overall, St. Donats surpassed all our expectations and provided us with a truly memorable outing with our family. We highly recommend this enchanting destination to anyone seeking a delightful blend of history, natural beauty, and warm hospitality. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at St. Donats for making our so special. We can't wait to return someday! Summer fayre was held within the gardens and inside some of the buildings. Fabulous venue. You can to the beach through the gardens. Lots of craft stalls and street food traders. Grate please to when to public but they make you feel as if they are doing you a favour. The ground are good but could be spectacular The old is as nice inside as out. Some of the other teaching buildings are very old and tatty. This is a fantastic place. Atlantic College lay on a fantastic day and the is an excellent venue, with fine views. Wonderful in nice Setting. Inside Looks Like from a H.Potter Movie. Students Must love it day at St Donats. A lovely day in this historic setting. Situated on the.coast. A just beyond the walls will places you on the beach. The day offers a around the house ( castle), also a climbing wall, Archery, bushcraft - all for a charge. We paid £15 for 2 hours archery. Refreshments , including a chip van were brought in for the day. A few relaxing gardens to through. One with small animal states where.children are encouraged to find a.place to hide from the ' beasts'. Lovely views from the top of these tranquil gardens. Lots of steps in this layer setting but the are disabled parking places at the top and the bottom. They also have 2 rescue donkeys. They have a swimming pool which should be.open to the public at times during the summer. It was being refurbished while we were there. Parking was £5 ( not sure if this will always be the case or just because it was an day). This place is definitely. Worth a visit. It is situated near Llantwit Major and Nash Point Lighthouse and is on the coastal path. Great trip to St Donats at the Summer Fayre 2022 ❤️. My dad being the senior Stradling in the family enjoyed showing the grand children their heritage, definitely worth a to the church to see that! Paid £10 a car which is good value for entry and extra £5 pp for swimming, had lovely swim in the outdoor lido overlooking the beach 🏊♀️ lots of other activities on offer 🧗♂️ but all needed to be prebooked and could get costly if doing lots. U need to be fairly fit to all the grounds as lots and lots of levels and steps. So not wheelchair or pushchair friendly if venturing away from the castle. A spectacular place to visit. Highly recommend their summer fairm. We visited for a Christmas Fayre event which is hosted every year. The itself is an international college which opens its doors to several organised events, this being one of them. There's also one in the Summer too. I love these events & browsing around the many stalls held by local traders & also experiencing the wonderful architecture of the place. The ladies downstairs toilets are like something out of Hogwarts. Def one not to be missed & well organised. Costs £12 parking. One of the most interesting and beautiful wedding venues in Wales! I love photographing weddings here because of the variety of wonderful spaces both inside and out. The incredible Brandenstoke Hall always delights guests for a wedding meal like no other and the tiered gardens that have many hidden gems to discover. There's even the opportunity for photographs down by the sea for adventurous newlyweds. I was most recently there last Summer for Bronwen and Andrew's day. Here's a few images from their day to get a feel for a typical St Donat's wedding. Look forward to returning soon! A beautiful place to visit. We had a great day there supplying of our Mini Golf Courses & Carnival Games for a family fun day www.aceminigolf.co.uk St Donat's was utterly perfect for our wedding. The and sea views were praised by so many of our guests. Les and Julian ensured the day was seamless The edifice, though partially restored, languishes in a state of profound disrepair. Even the ceremony hall, ostensibly offered as a venue for the most sacred of unions, is marred by ghastly stains upon its walls. The decorations, one might opine, have seen far better days, now appearing woefully decrepit and shaby. To add to the disarray, children from the adjoining college traverse the premises with unbridled abandon. Thus, to levy such extortionate fees for the rental of this venue is nothing short of an egregious affront to one's sense of propriety; it is, in the truest sense, daylight robbery. The personnel, alas, are distinctly inhospitable, bordering on outright discourteousness, conveying in no uncertain terms from the very threshold that your presence is decidedly unwelcome. In light of these lamentable circumstances, I must emphatically discourage any visitation to this establishment. There are far superior options abound in Wales, where splendid and captivating historical sites await, offering impeccable service and exuding genuine warmth and hospitality.
