Nice little Museum of Aviation with a reasonable entry fee. There are a lot of planes, models and history rooms on display with some of the displays that are interactionable. You get to sit inside. This museum is a work in progress, so it is always changing. I even managed to buy a couple of books from their stall (bargain at a couple of quid and not all are about planes). The staff were very friendly and informative. There are toilets for visitors and a great upstairs. It was great to see the Phantom that I used to see flying in and out of Leuchars. Fabulous place that you can easily spend a few hours at. Discount for carers, helpful staff that will talk about the displays, toilets were clean, on site with large menu situated up a spiral staircase that was wider than most. Didn't eat there as too late sadly. Loads of exhibits, models, science experiments, red arrows memorabilia. Also a room dedication to women in aviation. Concorde memorabilia. All sorts really. Bigger than I realised and loads more than I realised. Definitely recommend, and I'm not even interested in aircraft and I still found it good. Top tip- if you use a tom tom, you won't find the place. I had to use Google maps. It's down a lot of country lanes. Good for a rainy day. A really worthwhile visit if you have any sort of interest in aviation, especially military. A lot, if not all of the staff are ex military technicians and engineers. Their wealth of knowledge and passion for the industry is evident in abundance. They are only too helpful in explaining about the aircraft as you get to sit in at least half a dozen civil and military flight decks. We arrived at this aircraft museum with ex military hardware to boot. Our tour guide to us to all hangers and also gave us a information of what the do mostly restoration of aircraft to museum static status. it was a place that i found to be very interesting a history treasure which needs people to visit to keep this places alive and needs public support. I enjoyed a visit and appreciated the time given. A fantastic aviation museum. While the building may not look big from the outside, it is packed with wonderful planes, helicopters and other exhibits. Whereas other museums have their exhibits far behind a barrier, this museum allows you to get up close, and in most cases, inside the aircraft. Each exhibit has interesting information boards. Car parking is free. Dogs are welcome. And there is a very good on site. Definitely worth a visit and definitely worth the £10 per adult to get in. It's great being able to get up close and touch the planes and even sit in the cockpits of some. Great fun and plenty of info. Volunteers very helpful. The onsite has a good selection of hot and cold food that doesn't break the bank. The was very busy and they were extremely short staffed so there was the understandable wait for our food but the staff dealt with the stressful situation extremely well and continued to smile throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed this day out with my Son. Staff were friendly and helpful. Military discount also and a nostalgic trip down memory lane with past conflicts of my childhood. Recommend this for a family day out in South Wales Great place to visit. A real hands on experience, staff very helpful a full of knowledge. There's a upstairs and serves brill nosh at very reasonable prices. Have been before and will go again. In short, a great family day out.
