There is no other way out as the cliffs are high and not climbable. The ruins of the castle are to walk around and are just a short walk form the car park. You have to pay a fiver for parking in cash and the gate closes at 8(I think) but we were able to move the car to a bit that didn't get locked at night and explored the bay more A lovely with amazing sights and interesting history, as well as being a filming location for media such as Doctor Who. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area. However, be warned that the can come in very quickly so don't leave items unattended even if you're alone on the beach. When on the beach, you look back at the cliffs and under them there are interesting slabs of rock. The water was clean views over the Bristol channel and strangely the water felt reasonably warm. Visitor center has information on geology and history of the area. A lovely place for a day at the beach. Upon arrival you meet a friendly guy at the gate who will take £5 from you to the car for the day, if space is available you can at the bottom but if not you go a few hundred yards to the overflow. You have some little walks around the castle ruins, it's a little hilly, we had the dog and the pushchair and found it quite easy to navigate both. We then walked back down to the area. Toilets are available and free and pretty clean considering the number of people that visit. A shop is available for coffee, hot chocolate sweets, snacks and ice-cream and it's reasonably priced, as dogs are allowed on the the shop even does doggy ice cream. The is perfect when the is out and spacious. We took a small camping BBQ and cooked some lunch on the which was fine, just take all your rubbish and clean up after you. A great place for a lovely day out with the family. Great secluded rocky beach. Flat hard rock also to sunbathe on. Not too crowded even on hot days. Plenty of parking as there is an overflow just behind the main carpark that is next to the itself. The main car is £5 for all day parking and is manned. Great place to go rock pooling, take a walk along the or hike the cliff tops surrounding in both directions. Situated on site is an Iron age hill fort along with Dunraven castle remains and Dunraven walled gardens to add some history to the day and a looping stroll. Plenty of benches along the way to sit and relax and take in the views. A place with so much to explore along the coast of Wales. So many different amazing view points. The itself is covered in large rocks. Atleast 2 car parks available. The one I went into was £4 for 4 hours. Dog friendly. Probably not the best for wheelchairs or prams. Definitely worth the day trip! Good beach, been here a year ago in the summer. The water was to swim in. Big waves and the water gets deep fast, so be careful. The sunset was beautiful. There is also a coastal path just on top of the hills along the shore. It leads through a forest with ruins of a garden. The scenery is superb, jagged coastline and rock formations. Parking is limited but should be adequate if visiting outside of weekends or holiday periods. There is a cafe serving refreshments This trail includes everything. We have seen a corn farm, farm animals, and clean routes, fresh cold breeze air, and also a seaside view. Everything was adventurous. Toilet facilities are also available, with lots of parking spaces. Overall, it is worth to spend a day here. We had a wonderful day at Dunraven Bay. The scenery is stunning, and the sea was warm and clear. Our 3-year-old daughter especially loved exploring the rocks and little pools. The only downside was that the was very high, so there was no sandy to sit on. Keep in mind that during the summer the usually starts going out around 1–2 pm. There are also free toilets available, as well as a small coffee shop (takeaway only) where you can grab ice creams, coffees, and snacks.
