The food here is very basic. I ordered the most expensive meal on the menu. When it came i wondered what they had brought as half the ingredients were wrong. Onion ring and side salad missing. Instead, i was given a shallot and grilled tomato and mushroom with a corn on the cob. My main complaint was receiving a welldone steak instead of a medium. Welldone i mean whats the point. I did go to the staff as they didint check on my food and i was told a shallot is an onion ring and the rest is a side salad. Just pure bullshit from a dirty poorly dressed chef. I then had a terrible phone call with minimal signal with a manger. Who accused me of wanting half a plate of free food. I would have loved to pay 2 hours of my life to pay for a good plate of food but it wasent provided Been here before and enjoyed the meal. I heard there was a new chef, so went again. Absolutely awesome burger on a proper bun, my wife had a starter as her main, chicken wings and salad, everything was cooked to perfection, presentation was superb. The staff were very friendly, service was quick and food was excellent, We will be back!! 3 of us went here today for my father in laws birthday lunch. We received a warm welcome from Debbie and were seated immediately and our drinks were ordered and delivered quickly. We had lovely meals: Steak and ale pie, triple cooked and veg. Gammon, egg and chips, plus a delicious wild mushroom linguine with so much flavour and a good portion of parmesan shavings, plenty of garlic too. Very tasty. Fine OK I will have rice. But can I have also? Yes all fine. Food comes out, no chips, ask for chips, the food is nice enough but warm not hot, got to the courgetts and it was totally cold. Wait around to talk to someone... Still no chips. Get up and take my plate to the bar "please can you warm in microwave this is cold and can I please have the I ordered?" 3rd time I had to ask. Finally get my food back and and the waitress asks me.... half way though eating my meal if we will move tables. Me and my friend respond "no, We will finish our food and then leave" 3 more mouthfuls, including my FINALLY. ANOTHER waitress approaches and asks us to move. SO SO RUDE. Awful service, mediocrity in the menu and cold food service that was missing items. I really don't know why my friend paid full price. I would not have. Get ur act together. Visited for dinner whilst staying somewhere nearby. Overall the design and atmosphere of the restaurant area is nice and the service staff were friendly. However, the quality of the food and drink was poor. I ordered a Guinness, which upon arrival seemed to be a 440ml can with water added to top it up to fit a pint glass. Myself and a friend then ordered the beef burger. Both burgers were incredibly dry and, being a very thick patty, almost inedible. The bread was okay but seemed to be a very rustic type of bread that I personally didn't enjoy. The burger toppings were good. The were also okay, although cut very thick which I was not a fan of. I would not visit again.
