Stopped here after a walk to the Waterfall. Really and welcoming. Lovely place and nicely decorated. A lot to look at. We didn't have food but did look really nice. They have dining downstairs and upstairs. They have parrots in the garden and a little zoo out the back, think contact them on details. Lovely big beer garden out front and back. Lovely views. They do rooms. We planning to go back. Such a lovely place. Very warm welcome, lovely atmosphere, food superb!! Best roast dinner ever, agreed by all 6 of us. Staff are so very lovely, polite and very attentive. The little zoo there was also loved by all. Had a lovely in this dog pub last night. Dogs are welcome In the bar downstairs. Good menu choice and very difficult to pick what to have, in the end I went for the linguine with prawns and chorizo and my partner had faggots, which was one of the daily specials. The portion sizes when they came out were fantastic and the food was simply delicious. I also ordered a side of the garlic bread and this was like a pizza! were really and attentive and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer in a lovely welcoming pub. Will definitely try to come back before the end of our holiday. As I always say when I love somewhere, I wish this was my local. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. What an place and the food is proper chef prepaired not microwave ding like a lot of places. The depth of flavour and qaulity of the food was amazing, the are all very and the waitress even helped us find some tradesmen ad we are new to the area. Service was she was so chatty and welcoming and had a knowledge of the dishes on the menu, will definately be back, no wonder they stack up the awards. The zoo at the rear is also a nice touch The food is good, but not as good as some other local places, but they did make changes to adjust my to allow for food allergy, which was very much appreciated. The service was great, positioning is awesome, and they have a little zoo out back, which was a real pleasure to explore. Inside the artwork around is glorious - a very nice place to stop and have a and and explore. I spent a few hours here today. I sat on the couches by the bar. It was quiet as most were outside or eating upstairs and I had a peaceful and relaxing time. I ordered a ham baguette which was prepared and served promptly and was delicious. were and helpful. They fit me in last minute right after kitchen closed; very and kind. I was very thankful after such a long day and traffic. Wonderful pub. Highchairs available for little ones and overflow parking available if parking lot is full. I ordered chicken curry with rice as well as hot chocolate, making sure to tell them I am gluten-free. You can pay by cash or card. Outdoor and indoor seating. They also own an inn next door - I didn't stay there so I cannot review it. I felt comfortable in the pub part of the establishment that I wouldn't mind giving the inn a try in the future. Whilst on our Christmas camper travels, we stumbled upon this pub and restaurant. As soon as we stepped through the door, we were welcomed with a smile. The were so friendly, service and the food was fantastic. We were lucky to get a huge sofa by the fireplace, which was roaring when we arrived, so our dogs Albert & Dolly were also so happy to sit next to after a long day walking. There is also lots of wonderful art around the whole building, which you can purchase and a zoo in the back garden (yes, that's right). If you are travelling through or staying close by, then make sure you pop in as you will not be disappointed. There were some very endearing and enjoyable parts of our Sunday Lunch. I greatly enjoyed the food but found the portions quite small, after waiting half hour for the mains to come out, I was more than ready for a big, hearty roast dinner. Quality was great, but after waiting for what felt like a long while, it just wasn't enough. Then there was a bit of a mess up with the desserts and we were waiting longer again. To be fair, they were very apologetic about the delays and overall service was good. I think it was probably caused by how busy they were, but for our first experience, I'm afraid we won't be rushing back. We might try again for an evening when the weather isn't so poor and see if it's better. Came here for a whilst on holiday, nine of us including three children. Got off to a start with a walk around the mini zoo. Member of came out to bring the two parrots in for the evening, let my two kids have them on their arms. Service was prompt and friendly, quality of food excellent. Menu varied. Kids' portions generous. All in all an excellent experience, can recommend We had lunch today four different main meals plus two starters. Although they were busy we felt like we were the only people there, service was prompt were and the food was all freshly cooked and local produce, they even cooked mushroom linguine which wasn’t even on the menu. It was truly a delight for us all. We have recently moved to the and since I am in a wheelchair it is difficult to find excellent places for food. Most places like one down the rd are not interested in catering for wheelchair users. Here you can eat upstairs or down stairs as the also have a lift inside. Absolutely made my day Oh yes portions were huge Wonderful surroundings really relaxing atmosphere. Forgot to take pictures of other two meals lol Ty see you soon. We fell in love with Oak Lodge the minute we arrived. It was a perfect home from home but also a base from which to explore the four waterfalls. The pub/restaurant next door was second to none. We will not forget our last night for a very long time. The icing on the cake was the beautiful zoo. Absolutely charming and all of the animals so happy, well cared for and in condition. Very highly recommended as a family getaway. Absolutely dinner ..... twice! After a long drive and arriving late at our caravan site just 3 minutes up the road, we really couldn't be bothered to cook, so headed here, on the recommendation of our camping / caravan site. 2 adults and 2 children - absolutely food, all delicious and service too, brilliant staff. A beautiful pub. We were only staying in the for 3 nights and popped in again late on our last afternoon, with the intention of just having a drink and a walk around the mini zoo ..... but once inside we couldn't resist staying for dinner again! Across the 2 nights we had a steak, pork tenderloin, venison and king prawn curry, as well as kids sausages and ham & chips. All meals were cooked to perfection 😊. Would highly recommend. There is a small play next door too (not part of the pub but right next door) That plus the mini zoo (just a couple of pounds donation for entry) was perfect for the kids Stopped in late, and they found us a table, and all really friendly, we had a delicious meal, couldn't even fit pudding in. Also had a rescue zoo but didn't see it as dark. Would definitely eat there again the main course £20- £30 ish but worth it. There is some quirky artwork and a motorbike 😁 to keep the conversation going! Anthony, Claire and their wonderful didn't disappoint with our lunch today. Extremely good value for bowl and platefuls of deliciousness. We love the food, the atmosphere and the zoo. We recommend this fantastic business time and time again 😀 We enjoyed a wonderful evening (off the Specials board) here this week. It was the best of our holiday. Top marks to the chef! The decor of the pub Is brilliant, loved it! Highly recommended. Incredible tasting food, and welcoming staff, food delivered promptly and the mini zoo is definitely an added bonus! It’s a beautiful cosy pub with a large log fire. We did not want to leave and we will definitely return!
