Food was dire Pate and toast was actually pate with lukewarm bread Soup was not soup, it was half a bowl or ragu, it was that thick we ate it with a knife and fork. Sunday lunch was meh, stuffing was extremely dry, the choice of veg was poor, we had to keep asking for gravy, cauliflower cheese was actually broccoli with cheese melted on top (no sauce) roast potatoes had no colour and weren't crispy, roast parsnips were not roasted. We would have stayed for dessert but the first 2 courses put us off! Service was shocking, we had to constantly try and get someone's attention for extra gravy, cutlery, sauces and drinks, the staff were not attentive at all. The kitchen looked untidy and not very clean, the toilets were dirty, and the walls by the glass wash behind the bar looked mouldy. The place needs a good clean. Free bouncy castle for the kids. Great fun during the summer holidays. We had a delicious meal with quick, friendly service. The children’s’ meals were excellent value and we all had fun on the bouncy castle! We shall return. Under recent new owners, I must say I was highly impressed from start to finish. The food was outstanding for the price and everything was spot on. Beef melted. The desert stunning. Big plates, highly recommend. Staff welcoming. The owners were on site and greeting people in the pub. Bouncy castle in the garden, perfect for my 2 year old as he doesn’t sit still. We’ve also had lunchtime and evening meals there and cannot fault any! Really recommend this lovely pub ! Came for Sunday lunch with family for a birthday meal and food was outstanding, staff attentive and very pleasant atmosphere.
