Nice walk, dog friendly + cafe & loos. Clean walking path with which unfortunately you have to pay & display. Lovely adventure playground for the kids. Plenty of paid available. Lovely cafe and for children. Variety of routes within the park, dog friendly and some pram friendly too. In winter, not much wildlife to see, but still a lovely walk. Visited to do a parkrun. Plenty of and clean toilets. Stunning scenery It's not a big but there are a multitude of paths through the woodland. The lake has a circular walk of about 30 to 40 minutes if taken at a reasonably gentle pace. There are plenty of hides in which to sit and with binoculars maybe catch sight of waterfowl or other wildlife. After an explore around the there is the opportunity to sit and buy refreshments at the cafe. If you have young children with you there is also a playground to keep them occupied. It is very popular with dog owners and I had my pooch with me the day I visited. Take note that it isn't a place to let your dog off its lead though and there are notices through the advising against such. The risk to established wildlife is presumably considered to be at risk if dogs are let loose. We spent a relaxing 3 or 4 hours wandering around Llyn Llech Owain Country Park. I recommend you try the same. I must say in the last two weeks, there was no trail without a dog poo, and I mean it's everywhere. Can't enjoy looking at surroundings, cause you need to watch in case you stwp in the dogs poo! I go to this country at least 4 times a week , and it is now really off putting. Instead of fresh air and woodland scent, I am breathing in stink of dog poo!! There are bins on the grounds, maybe council needs to provide free bags? Laziness on dog owners behalf! I don't know, shame on dog owners who leave dogs poo behind!!! Also council could do something to improve paths, we can't help weather but it's hard to manoeuvre between dogs poo and flooded areas . I always enjoyed going there, was worth paying £1.20 for an hour, lovely fresh walk , and so local. A lovely that has a perfect mix of natural woodlands, a decent play area, a cafe and not stupid charges. Refreshing to see that the cafe isn't the usual council run chips, burgers, machine coffee place but rather stylish, warm with nice food/drinks and friendly staff. Only complaint - what is it with dog owners and discarded poo bags 😕. Be careful walking over to see the map in the car park, there’s a slight slope and mud, I fell straight on me bottom. We walked all around the reserve and saw one duck. I’m surprised at such a lovely nature reserve there isn’t more wildlife to see, hardly any birds today. Coffee and cake was very nice and the toilets are very clean. I regularly visit Llyn Llech Owain as it’s only a short drive from home and the dog loves it up there. It’s a perfect dog walking spot as it’s easy to park, beautiful scenery and has a coffee shop that sells dog ice cream. I am always finding new routes to explore and is a reasonable price too. Highly recommended for days out as dog owners, individuals, couples and families as there is also an outdoor play area which seems quite good. This is where the regular Saturday morning 5 km Parkrun takes place (plus an extra one on Christmas morning) always at 9 am. Come early if you want to find a place because it's very popular. The 2.5 km circuit makes for a very pleasant walk too. Bring boots as there will be plenty of mud much of the year.
