The welfare hall offers a variety community based events in the day, and some great evening live shows. A local theatre group perform Pantomime shows there every January with reviews. They have a subscription cinema club & the public cinema with a sweet shop is on your doorstep at £4.60 per adult and not supposed enough. Some cosmetic upgrading is require, toilet maintenance etc. The main hall has been painted and they have had new seats. Overall a entertainment facility on our doorstep. All morning out with the kids Went to see Dune 2 here, I'd already seen it in Vue but wanted to see it again. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but what the cinema here lacks in comfort, and image quality, it makes up for in sound. The sound was much better here, than at Vue, but the image was considerably darker. Great lil cinema all round with fantastic, passionate staff. Not great for 3 hour movies, but fine for shorter films Visited to see a friend in The Calendar Girls! Lovely clean with some great character to it, nice to see these older venues still going! Drinks etc were expensive but they've got to bring in additional income to keep it going! Fab production! My favourite music venue! This place always gets the best bands (folk in my case) and is roomy and comfortable. There is a reasonably-priced bar with excellent beer, and the atmosphere is always good. The theatre style to watch Bronwen Lewis was perfect for us in the second row of tiered seats. The sound and lighting were good, and the temperature inside on a cold November night was good.
