Definitely worth a if you enjoy mosaics This place was as expected, parking was via a little gravel car park. Then there was a path which was about 2 mins walk to the Roman remains. This was all under the cover of a wooden roof and there were signs explaining key facts about each section. It was very small and there was not much there to look at once you walked around it in about 10 mins. If you have a pet or children they are not welcome in the café area. They must be above 18 years old but no dogs at all. This ruined my experience. This place is amazing! Roman remains just lying there that you can for free! Acres of unimproved meadow surrounding the site gives opportunity to see lots of wildflowers and butterflies. The hotel is open to non residents for good food and refreshments. A lovely and a bit surrealistic (in a positive way) to the Roman villa ruins at Littlecote located next to Littlecote house. It’s a very peaceful and tranquil place and one can’t but help to imagine how life must have been buzzing here over 1,700 years ago. All that is left of the “vill” are its foundations and a restored mosaic at what was some sort of shrine. Plenty of parking and hiking opportunities near by. I don’t know if you can get to this place without booking a stay at the hotel. Really enjoyed my at the beginning of May. The remains of the Roman villa as well as the manor house (Littlecote House) next door are well worth a visit. And to round it all off, a nice pot of tea and cake at the hotel. How anyone could give this less than 5 stars is beyond me. Absolutely lovely mosaic, in amazing grounds and it’s totally free to with free parking. Went to Fisbourne Roman palace a few weeks before and for two of us it was nearly £50 and this is far better as you can explore the remains of the entire site that had flint walls. Kostenlos!
