Hungerford, United Kingdom Farm shop

A lovely modern and well organised farm shop with florists, butchers and restaurant with afternoon tea out the back. Electric car charging points are coming soon too... All very nice! Really lovely farm shop. Bit expensive but the food is fantastic. The bacon is amazing. Really tender and tasty. Loads of choice. Jam-packed full of quality local produce. The deli counters were mouthwatering and it was hard to not drop a small fortune. Really appreciate a place that promotes local produce so will always give a 5 star. Lovely grounds for the kids to run around as well. Nice little touch offering boxes to take your groceries home. Beautiful, well stocked farm shop with ample parking space. Sells Fresh produce, cheese, poultry, fruits and veg, pickles, chutney and many more. Very friendly staff. Facilities are well kept. It’s got ample parking slots. The prices seem to be slightly on the higher side compares to local shops. Food was really disappointing. Brown avocado on tough bread and a quiche that was raw in the middle. It was replaced but by that point my partner had finished her food. Food came before our coffees. Coffees were nice. Needs a bit of a clean up outside- massive pile of bird poo right by the door. The lady who served us was nice but no offer for a free coffee or anything because of the messed up food and no one asked if the food was okay. If they did ask we would have said no. Spent £80 on a range of products including deli items. Cakes ok, Pork pies, arancini and scotch eggs tasteless and meat tasted cheap. Limited range of fruit/veg but plenty of meat options, pre packaged foods and home goods. The pre packaged items were 10-20% more expensive than the same products at other farm shops. Service was horrendous, staff were eating, chatting amongst themselves and standing in the way, one moved to block an isle we were in and we had to walk all the way around even though she saw I had visible mobility issues. We had to go find a staff member to pay, when staff did speak to us they were curt and abrupt. Shop was well decorated but would not return based on experience, plenty of nearby farm shops with better food and better prices. Lovely shop. Good choice of beer - but could do with more local brewers and fewer of the big national brands Great place for lunch or breakfast. Service a little slow but the staff are helpful and friendly. The butchery and cheese/pastry counters are very good, all with a good range of quality products. A good selection of fish is also available from the chiller cabinets. Veggie display does not have the same commendation; some very tired vegetables (shrivelled mushrooms ought to be on display) and expensive as well compared to Waitrose and - well -OK, Salisbury Market. The latter's perhaps not a fair comparison... We'll keep visiting to eat and buy meat but will buy our veg elsewhere.
