Lovely pub well located near where people are walking the Barrow river towpath. Has 00% beers. Has antiques and a sitting out area. wee pub, cosy, good atmosphere, friendly locals and service. pints of Guinness, beer garden out the front and in a nice quiet location. Worth dropping in for a few drinks. Lovely pub. Food is excellent and the are great. Nice atmosphere also, not too loud. Would definitely recommend and will visit again. Difficult review this because when I called in for food on a Monday in August and requested a menu I was told they only have food at weekends. Tea, ice cream and beer plentifully available, all week long, I was informed. Therefore, I cannot comment on food or atmosphere or service. Whilst trying to locate a cafe/restaurant nearby I noticed other hungry visitors enter and leave the pub apparently equally disappointed they couldn’t have food. I discovered subsequently there is a cafe a few hundred metres away on the bank of the river but I wasn’t informed about this at the pub. All I can comment on is that the pub is small and cosy, however I was very disappointed to observe a couple of young men using vapes inside the pub. No excuse for this. Good food and friendly in a lovely location. place for some top quality food and a Guinnes ftaf and owner were so helpful and friendly A pub I often wanted to visit. location on village green. Nicely decorated and providing food. Have to revisit to find out about the food when there's no music. Too loud to stay. A country pub with plenty of comfortable outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor is very inviting on a summer evening, beautifully lit, views over the village green toward the monastery of St Mullin’s. The service was top class, the pints top notch, the and management engaging and the locals very friendly. Really enjoyed it, going back tonight for food and music after a day cycling the Barrow way. Love this place!! Update - day 2- staying locally so I went back to this pub - but I ate this time, I had the steak sandwich which was a perfect cut of meat, perfectly cooked and presented beautifully on a wooden steak board - the best steak sandwich I have had in my life-have a look at the photo - a picture paints a thousand words….and a couple of pints while listening to some live music. Thank you -true 5 star hospitality -I ll be back and I’ll send more too! We booked Blanchield's Pub for our of 110 guests after looking for a homely venue nested in a stunning countryside landscape. Located along the River barrow walkway, facing an old monastery and annexed motte, Blanchfield's is a local, authentic and rustic pub, full of character! The pub is very cozy and welcoming and has different areas which worked perfect for our celebrations and all our guests. The outdoor at the entry has colourful cafe tables and parasols, timber pergola with built-in bench and is facing a large green where you can admire the monastery ruins from. The main indoor bar is an absolute gem, with classic memorabilia and a stove for the winter time: I love the picture of the two of us behind the counter! Another large private bar is located at the back with its own drink counter and tables. At the back there's also a very generous patio, partly covered, where we had our lovely barbecue. Just few steps down, there's a sunk-in enclosed lawn garden, ideal for children to play. When we went for our in-person visit, we were immediately impressed by the supreme competence of Dawn and Seamus: they've been working in the tourism & hotel business industry for years, and they are well aware of the challenges and needs of couples. The entire planning process was so easy and seamless and they were able to accommodate so many of our needs from accessibility, to food accommodations for allergens, outdoor table placements and so on. They were always quick to respond, making communication pleasant and simple. They organised to have a photo of us just walking out of the church after the ceremony, and they printed out and put it at the entrance of the pub, which I found a very lovely touch! The food was absolutely delicious: we had a mouth-watering BBQ with burgers, skewers, sausages, ribs and more; they prepared loads of fresh side dishes that were absolutely delicious. Their chef is really top-notch! The guests also loved the refreshing lemon sorbet served at the end of the meal, and the kids went mad for the strawberry and marshmallows skewers dipped in chocolate. All the guests were so positively impressed with the settings, everyone was so happy to celebrate our in a pub as it feels so homely and comfortable: we all chatted and laughed for hours both inside and outside. We'll never forget our special day at Blanchfield's Pub! The whole was very friendly, extremely helpful, responsive and very accommodating. The cake was delivered, lovely set-up and served outside. When the sun was about to set, the band arrived and played live music outdoors, pure summer vibes: class! Blanchfield's is such a beautiful venue, perfect for our rustic-themed wedding, we couldn’t pick a better venue. We just recently got our pictures back from our photographer, and they are unreal! You just can't beat the beauty of the place! If you are looking for a venue for your wedding, give them a call. The will be more than happy to show you this gorgeous place. Walked here from Graiguenmanagh. Was recommended this spot and it didn't let us down. Can't fault it or say enough about the spot or the staff. Friendly, pint and food. Saint Mullins is lovely to visit and dont miss this spot if you are there.
