A short drive from Dunleer and Ardee. Short around the small lake. Viewing points with areas to watch wild birds. Kids love this and stopping to watch the ducks. The trails are narrow in places, but safe. Not really suitable for buggies but is doable if needed. Wear suitable footwear in wet weather. Free to visit with parking. Regularly my two dogs here , peaceful place. Some nice benches for sitting and watching the wildlife. place for a and to sit and take in the sounds of nature. In the warm summer days it's a place for a picnic. walk. Great for kids.. not so great for anyone with a buggy or pram.I advise bringing a sling Wellies advised as it can get mucky in the winter months. Don't forget to bring some food for the ducks they will put on a show. Parking can get busy. No need to but tickets, place for a short (maybe 1km all the way around). It been raining for the past few days so it was extremely muddy and slippery, but it's a place with views and plenty of ducks, swans and other birds around the place. We took the dog for a (it's an on-leash area, in theory) very clean in terms of dog dirt, people obviously clean up properly here. There were only 2 bins side by side that we came across on the around. The car park closes (big gate) at either 6pm or 8pm, there were varying signs so I'm not sure which is correct. But in the winter months I wouldn't fancy walking there in twilight or dark. circular around a small lake in a woodland setting. Full circle takes about 25 mins at a gentle pace. Paths can be flooded in Winter or after a lot of rain. Pay attention to the notice at the gate as the gates are shut when the notice says (varies according to season). It is a great place to and relax. Beautiful place. Only thing it's not place for let kids run. The path is narrow and no fence around lake, so not suitable for young and hyper children😁 Nice lakeside walk. Quite short which makes it very suitable for small kids (who will love the ducks).
