I visited this place planning to have a nice walking in a park, totally unaware of the history and cultural meaning of this site for the city, the province and even the country.. To make the experience even better try to acces not by the main entrante but by the old forest called the Philosophers walk, along the small channel. Be sure to reach the pond, amd then the source of water from the stone. Have a look at the old photos exposed at the colonnade. And head afterwards towards the old buildings of the health resort, today private houses. The park and the houses are so that you will go around just enjoying. There's no coffe place so bring your own picnic. No toilet but nice children playground. Many historical buildings have been turned into private homes, what gives the park a very cozy and vibrant feeling. I kept one star away in the rating because of the sad experience we had at the salamander fountain: a group of boys were catching the poor animals and mistreated them despite of the sign there and my vocal warnings. A man working in the adjacent building came out and also told them to stop, what I am very grateful for. Nevertheless, I feel that it is up to the municipality to ensure that no one hurts those endangered animals.
