Well placed traditional Inn on village main route corner with ample parking, tables outside and good mix of bar and dining space indoors. They keep their ale well and serve nice food. Went there for lunch with 3 old friends. They all ordered pie of the day but there were only two left. I had sea bass which was the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen in any restaurant! It was served on top of crushed potatoes which were the best part of the meal. The veg were mainly small peas but far too many so I left some. The fish smelled strange and didn't taste like sea bass...Ok. so the main course wasn't good and I looked forward to the dessert. I ordered chocolate brownie with ice cream. When it arrived it looked pretty good but when I started eating it I was disappointed because it wasn't chocolate brownie. It was not the right consistency or flavour for a chocolate brownie. It was more like chocolate cake! I don't drink and ordered a glass of water. But there was no ice or slice of lemon! Overall a disappointment and I won't be going there again. Lovely little old pub. Recommend a visit! Enjoyed a drink in the garden on this glorious day 🌞 Excellent family run pub with an interesting and varied menu. Good value and great service. We were returning to the area we once lived for a short break and this proved a very good place to eat. A big advantage over many is that it opens early in the week. Highly recommended but ideally book to avoid disappointment. Great pud grub. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. We were a party of 12 and pre ordered food and paid in small groups very successfully thanks to quick communication with friendly staff. Many thanks. We will come again. Yes my friend really did have Pavlova and custard and it was delicious! Nice straightforward, traditional British pub with great food, good selection of beers, lovely staff and friendly atmosphere. Dogs are welcome (ours quickly made friends with the dog at the next table.) Recommended. Nice for beers outside. Dog friendly. Staff were nice. Didn't enjoy my meal here but would go back for drinks. Lovely pub, lovely staff and fab food. We will definitely return next time we visit North Wales. We ate in here a few times and each time the food was delicious. Bar area dog friendly too !!
