Fairways were a spongy wet carpet at times and the length of the cut because of this meant some of the fairways grass were generous! I imagine in the dry and more in the summer. On two recent visits, I saw players wearing jeans—on one occasion even paired with sandals. Meanwhile, a female member was playing in walking boots. It gives the impression of double standards, as another member appears to uphold the rules consistently. There’s also a tendency to shift blame, with the same female member regularly criticising the greenkeepers for the course’s poor condition, rather than taking accountability. The club would benefit from a serious review of its management.
