Good food We called in today for drinks and a scone. The sea views are amazing, the waves were crashing on the sea wall, absolutely mesmerising. It wasn't busy. It's self service. We found a table easily. The drinks were hot and tasty, the scone was OK (a bit dry). It cost about £12 for 4 drinks and a scone which I thought was reasonable. We noticed it was dog friendly. It was quite chilly inside but it is only February. We would visit again. Magnificent service thanks very very much. Just popped in for a coffee Great environment, helpful and friendly staff. Good quality coffee at reasonable prices. We walked past this place on our first weekend in Bridlington and it was packed so we decided to give it a try midweek when it was quieter. The first table we stopped at, there was food all over the floor and the table hadn’t been cleaned so we found another. The second had bench seats and they were filthy, I’m still not sure why we didn’t walk out there and then, we really should have looking at my own picture I took of the seat as I write this review. My wife had the vegetarian panini and I had the Mexican burger. The taste of our food really was excellent, I’m not kidding it was fantastic. Afterwards we had deserts which matched the mains for taste, spot on. The are all young minimum wage workers who are pretty lazy. We asked for some condiments and we were pointed to where we could go and get our own. We watched the ignoring dirty tables and looking like they didn’t want to be there. It’s a shame as this place could and should be 5 stars if it was just down to the quality of our meals. Five stars for the food, 2 stars for cleanliness and 3 stars for the staff. Lovely cafe with great views of the ocean. Fantastic décor inside. It's a renovation of the old pavillion there. Helpful who were rushed off their feet when we visited. Pretty good food, but slightly pricey for the area. Lots of cheaper options elsewhere. But I think the views and atmosphere are worth it. Although, saying that, the music was a little loud and intrusive for a Sunday afternoon I thought. Beautiful place to visit I like this place for the atmosphere. It's nice to sit on the outside seating looking towards the sea surrounded by beautiful flowers. The are also nice. Hot drinks were fine, including their tea (although the milk jug and teapot spill half on the table). What I felt a little let down by was the food. The toasted tea cake must have been the cheapest teacake ever produced. It's certainly the worst I've come across. It was a game of spot the fruit. We also asked for a Bakewell tart but got a cheaper cake version with no pastry bottom like a tart would have and the main part was not frangipane. It was a sponge with spots of jam in it. It tasted ok but wasn't what I asked for and feel this should have been mentioned. The desserts did look nice, I'll admit that. Some prices are ok, others are OTT. Bought the pie, pease and gravy, around £7:00 and a jacket, had to send the pie back as the crust wouldn’t cut as so hard, the inside was burnt to a frazzle!! The jacket potato was cold and hard in the middle! I got a refund, back to Boyes next time!! The ice-cream we had was very tasty, creamy and fruity but it must be the smallest ice-cream I have ever had for £3.50. It literally just filled a small ice cream scoop and sat like the size of a boiled egg in top of the cone. If I'd had it in a waffle cone it would have fallen down inside it, it was so small. Lovely place to have a snack, meal or just a drink. There are plenty of to serve you and they make make sure the tables are clean ready for the next customers. The view is the best in Bridlington. This place is not the place it once was a number of years ago unfortunately!!! The food menu has changed no sorry my apologies the menu hasn’t changed just the prices have gone sky high and items have been taken off the menu which where previously there and where best sellers which we have found perplexing!!!! Anyway I don’t think they care one bit about what anyone writes on here as people clearly go there blindly just to get shit faced so what’s the point and they are making money hand over fist!!! Ordered two club wraps, both came with bugs and flies inside, I had already eaten half of it before I'd realised, making me feel severely unwell. I spoke to a member of who directed the manager to us who then gave us a refund and a round of free drinks. Atleast they were considerate enough to give me something to wash the bugs down with. Whilst leaving we received some dirty looks from the chef, as if it were our fault the food was contaminated. having costed £29 for two wraps I expected more. We went here 18/09, the place itself is lovely and loved you can sit out. Ive put two stars for service because you dont really get “served” order from the app and then have to get all your cutlery and sauces from a side bench. The food is expensive and was disappointing. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the burger tasted so cheap like it was from a burger van from the front and chips were thin hardly any potato in them. My partner only ate half of this. The pizza was okay but wasn't massively worth its money. Overall disappointing to say the least.
