A while between visits but still a nice pub. F Good pub food, good size portions. Came here Wednesday evening with our grandsons for a meal. It was absolutely delicious. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was the best meal we had all week. We booked again for Friday and had the same great and wonderful meal. A place we will remember for next time we are in the area the photo is of brunch burger and chicken with garlic mushroom sauce Arrived at 5pm without a reservation. Staff are pleasant & food enjoyable. Seemed to be getting busy by time we left. Probably best to make reservations. Gammon was very good. Lamb shanks would be better with a choice of mash. The area inside is clean, The Staff are welcoming. Easy Accessible for those hard of walking. The food as you see in the pictures was lovely, of a very good standard. The downside was there were a couple of things they didn't have on the menu. The portion sizes on your main meal such as the pies were a little small and the price against this doesn't match the portion size. Just popped in for a quick drink on the way home. Lovely old pub great service. Loved the old photos on the wall of the village, and really interesting to look at. It was quiet on a Wednesday afternoon. Good selection of beers and the food anf was spot on thanks 🙂 We have just returned from Bempton and used The White Horse pub to eat every night.Theres a large vegetarian selection as well as the pub favourites. They take into consideration your dietary needs and made a lovely ham salad for me one night. The pie is well worth a try,with new potatoes and veg, that wasn't over cooked. My husband had vegetarian lasagne, it was very cheesy and delicious. The beer is well kept and they do avery nice cider. It's under new management and if they keep up with the excellent and fabulous tasty food I don't think they can't go wrong. We wish them luck and will be back soon. We visited as a large party and were really impressed with the service. The team were friendly and organised, and although we’d pre-ordered our meals, they were happy to accommodate a last-minute change when one of our group spotted something on the specials board much appreciated! One thing to be aware of: the online menus don’t appear to be up to date. Prices on the bill were around £5 more per meal than shown online, which was a bit of a shock when it came to paying. Our total worked out at roughly £30 per head, even with four children under 13 in the group, so it felt like quite an expensive evening. Overall, great and a pleasant atmosphere, but I’d suggest checking current prices directly before booking.
