Stop serving food at 7.55pm. Stood at the entrance to get a bar staff shouted that they were no longer serving food, shouted to us like we were a pair of tramps. Was able to reserve a on google sat in the car park. If you want to eat here then come early or at least when they want you to. As per Google The Forester serves food until 9:45 PM, as this is when they take their last food orders. While the pub itself is open until 11 PM, food stops earlier to allow for final orders and the kitchen to close down. Shame, looked forward to it but we are never to darken doors ever. Not bitter just truthful 😀 First time eating here after visiting Bempton Cliffs! Food was enjoyable, presented nicely! Staff very friendly, asked if we enjoyed our food which we all did .I chose the vegetarian falafel burger as pictured! I a well done, I said I didn't mind it been burnt it came out wet in blood which looked awful with wet cheese. I asked the waiter to change it for me he said no problem mate and off he took it to the kitchen, It came back well done on half of it then got redder further in. I left it. Wife and kids enjoyed there food and puddings. We would like to give a massive shout out to George.....the server first of all. George was very attentive to all of us. Friendly...helpful and had a positive attitude towards each and everyone of us especially the children. Thank you very much for your wonderful service. Kacey was very friendly....helpful and very cheerful. She was very attentive and was very helpful. Thank you kacey. Excellent pub. Food is great staff are atmosphere is good too. Dog also. We are lucky to have this pub as our local Had 4 main (3 steaks) and 2 kids (which are excellent value when bought with an adult meal. Main were reasonably priced, exceeded expectation of quality whilst being well presented, served quickly and excellent service. Well recommended and very much enjoyed. Even the fellow customers were friendly. 10/10. 👏 Love coming to The Forester, pet area too. Staff are always polite n helpful. Food is ready within about 15 mins even when quite busy, don't wait long.... Atmosphere is always good, plenty of music n chit chat too. Hoping to be back on Wednesday night ❤️ Our family of 6 visited this pub on the 23rd October. What a lovely pub, felt really welcoming. The staff went out of the way to find us a as we didn't book. On ordering our food Jessica was so and really friendly..we had a laugh or two. Jasper was just the same when ordering our drinks. The food was really tasty and plenty of it. Loved this pub and would definitely return when we are next at Flamborough Head. My wife and I dined at the Forester Bridlington on Sunday evening 12th October 2025. Jonny took and handled my order very well. My wife thought her food was adequate, unfortunately mine was very disappointing, probably the worst Sirloin I’ve ever had. It was medium to well done but bordering on red, and after two cut bite sizes it was never ending chewing, I had to spit the second bit out subtly. The peppercorn sauce and chips were alright, and the zero alcohol Madri was lovely, and the wife’s John Smith was lovely too. Jessica was really and whilst taking our food order, she explained our options and placed the order efficiently, it is so nice to have someone serve you who is happy in their job. The food was fabulous, really tasty, hot and filling. We had 3 x rump steaks (managers special) and sizzling chicken skewers, all were cooked to perfection and such good value for money. Desserts were, apple pie and custard, chocolate fudge cake and caramel waffles..... So delicious. Will definitely be back and recommend to our friends. Thank you. Fantastic value. Two main for £12.75. we chose fish and chips which came with peas and Tartare sauce. Very generous portions. Really fast both to be seated and with the meals. And one of the few restaurants that offers a mini desert with any hot drink for £5.49. Salted Caramel profiteroles with fluffy cream topped with popcorn. Absolutely delicious, all of it. Will definitely be out regular. Such a disappointing visit! We reserved a prior to visiting to celebrate a very special occasion. My mother in laws 60th birthday. We have visited before and the food and has been great. At the time of ordering via the app there were no delays in food advised. Some of our party at the bar and were advised of a 45 minute wait. This was fine. 1hr 10 later I went to chase and was advised they were advising 1hr 15 wait for food. Yes that was then but the 1hr 10 before it had been 45 minutes. We were told the food was ready and was being played up. At this point it was close to 8:30. We had amused 6 children for such a long time food was finally here. When it came it was terrible! Garlic bread was rock hard, steaks tough and either cremated or under cooked. Nothing was to as we ordered. Chips were flat cold and tasted like they had been reheated on several occasions! We complained and were offered a round of desserts! 3 totalling over £55 had hardly been touched. We discussed and were refunded for the 3 meals. Some particularly the kids, were eaten simply because they were so hungry the taste and dryness just had to be dealt with. It was a dampener on what had been an amazing day. Unfortunately we won’t be visiting again or providing a recommendation for friends or family to eat here in the future. We booked last minute for an evening meal as a family of three, we arrived half an hour early but were warmly welcomed and seated straight away. Ordered our drinks and food via an app which gave us the time to make our food and drink choices at our leisure. When the order was placed the drinks came within two and food within ten minutes. The food was hot and exceptional, cooked to our requirements. The staff were very polite. We would revisit and definitely return and recommend. Well done The Freindly Forrester Absolutely appalling!!!! , first impressions are always important and we walked into a bar so full of dirty glasses you could not even get close, this should have been the red flag from the beginning. An hour and a half wait for food and once we got the food it was terrible, lasagna and card board was a joke, rare was well done boot leather and chips that are not worth having. This is definitely a place I would not recommend or even return to. The staff are under pressure and the management don’t even seem bothered by giving poor and terrible food. Thank you to Jessica and the team at Forester for always making our experience excellent. From at the bar to the and check backs and not forgetting the chefs always cooking the best quality pub food to the highest standard! The pineapple and ginger dressing is my absolute favorite! As my nana says.. This is the best pub with the best atmosphere and best and the prices are beyond belief for the quality... That cheap that we come 2-3 times a week! We booked a for monday as just turned up on friday and couldnt get in, so we had high hopes. We were ushered into the back room and crammed in despite other tables being free in the main area. I at the bar then asked to change my for more space, this was duly obliged with no fuss. Whilst waiting a waitress entered the room and shouted to "listen to me as you have all from the same table" and then listed some dishes. These we for the behind us that had joined two together. She wasnt happy. We waited for almost an hour before the food came, okay it was bank holiday but still. Our food was delivered by the same waitress as earlier , in no better mood and basically threw our in front of us. (Considering we at the bar so didnt not get our number wrong). My sons burger was excellent, my wifes Gammon was greasy and tastless, my daughters burger was good, my philly was just with cheese on, not really what philly cheese is. It was tasty but we only had a handfull of chips each. I decided not to bother airing my thoughts so we left, I made eye contact with the waitress on the entrance and said thanks and good night to which I got completely blanked. Safe to say, we wont be going back.
