Came here with the family for a quick meal after a run back from a trip out and heading back to solway. Food was hot and fresh and service was good, few mistakes but they corrected them without question and satisfactory. Lovely fish and chips. Freshly made to order. Batter was so delicate and cooked well. We got takeaway and sat on the bench’s near the park. Can not fault the fish and chips. So many places get this wrong and this place hit the spot. Not the best photo and tasted so much better than it looked. Service was terrible, gobby young girl serving has no idea about customer service and was very rude. Food was sub standard, the cheapest of ingredients and overpriced. We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast to arrive and it wasn’t even that busy. Won’t be back First time in this town, first time in this place, after 4.5 hours continuous driving. Ordered some food, paid. Sat at a table waiting... When the order was ready I've been shown to collect (food packed for takeaway). At this staged asked I've I'm having takeaway or eating in. Wanted to eat in - was told I have to pay extra for that. Quite unpleasant. Not the best service, to say the least. No napkins packed, none offered. My hunger went away... Staff were really friendly. I got a full English breakfast it was lovely. My girlfriends sausage and was good and the curry sauce was also good. The little one is a fussy eater so we ordered a cheese wrap and it was so big she couldn't eat it. Would definitely return here. Horrible food. Only ordered egg and chips, plus a chicken pie and chips. Had to eventually ask again for a missing drink. Double eggs were covered in dirty fat bits and looked grey. Chicken pie was insipid and squashy. Vinegar on the table had slime inside of it. I was told they normally strain it out, but they didn't have time. I would suggest changing the brand of vinegar they are buying. Disgusting experience, but waitresses were friendly. Take away fish and were absolutely amazing and only 10 pound.
