This is a lovely place to enjoy the fresh Solway air, there is of off street parking, there are some nice places to get refreshments and there are amusements and play areas for children. There are of good clean and fresh toilets and baby changing facilities. There are of grassy areas for games and running around, there are also lots picnic tables and seating on the itself. I am not sure about the beach, as the tide was in on both the occasions that I visited Great views. Beautiful sunsets. What a delightful seafront! Low tide reveals clean, soft, golden sand and there are fantastic views of Scotland from across the Solway. Even at high tide the stepped sea defences make for an easy walk - perhaps to the wooden lighthouse about half a mile to the north. The backdrop of the is made all the more pleasant by the abundance of wonderful old Scots pine trees. Town shops are only a few minutes' walk away and parking is free (as far as we could see) anywhere. Highly recommended! Wide level promenade. Good for walking, of free parking, but limited facilities for eating etc. Quite a long to walk down on a nice day, the rain caught me on my visit but not for long. A couple of areas and an arcade to keep the little ones entertained even some exercise/workout items along the way. There are also some shops close by. Overall it was an enjoyable few hours spent for a more let's say mature visitor like me. I visited here on a Saturday and there was of free parking. Lovely views from the of Scotland. A walk along the take you past, the impressive ‘Big Fella’ sculpture, amusements, and a lighthouse. Lot’s of benches along the front and a few areas with picnic tables. Not far from the there are a number of cafes. Positives: Free ample parking Public facilities Scenic Benches and picnic tables Playground, amusements and a BMX track Has a parkrun Negatives: Not a lot to do there is the weather is poor Fantastic day, 8 month old loved sitting on the green. Did not like or feel of the grass on her feet. She stayed on the mat until she was ready. The sites and sounds were constantly keeping her occupied. Finished the day off with a walk along the sea front. Fantastic day. I very much enjoyed walking on Silloth promenade,our two dogs loved it. A spacious flat walking area with of places to rest when needed. There is a cafe, toilets as well as a splash park for Children. The Beach is a mixture of Sand, mud and Shingle only fully accessible at low tide. There are stunning views across the Solway firth to Scotland and the area to the north of the is a Nature reserve. The area is well worth a visit.
