The food well what can I say apart from outstanding, it was all cooked fresh to order and arrived within 20 minutes. The quality was again outstanding, I had the double Galloway Burger. It was amazing, probably the best burger I've had recently. My wife had a gammon steak and, again, really good quality and cooked to perfection. We had the early bird offer of two courses for £20, and it was definitely worth it. Good portion sizes and would return without hesitation if.in the area again. After visiting Dunskey castle we popped here for a meal. This place advertised as a bar & restaurant. There was 4 of us on our visit and when we walked in we could smell the cooked fat and just smelt like a greasy spoon cafe, the smell was really strong (the extraction was either none existent or not working who knows) it was that bad tho even when the sun was shining you could see the haze within the restaurant (see photos). While we were eating a lady and her children came in and also commented on the smell. The restaurant its self was pleasantly decorated the furniture was of a good quality and it was quite light and warm feeling. The member of staff was pleasant and helpful, patient and attentive. The food, as I’ve said there was 4 of us and 3 of us all ordered and and 1 ordered Cajun Chicken Panini The and chips… in my opinion I strongly believe that the frozen pieces. The were all the exact same size and shape. It was a little wet but this was not because it had not been cooked long enough it was strange. The were not they were French fries, this was not and it was frozen processed and French fries. We were all starving and eat the majority of it out of hunger rather than enjoying the food. The Cajun chicken was quite nice and tasty. We had 3 x and we think costing £48 1 x cajan chicken panini we think costing £9 3 x cans of coke not sure of price 1 x pint of cider. Not sure of price Total cost £72, so from what I can gather we were either ripped off or 3 cans of coke and 1 pint of cider cost around £15 Would we visit here again NO DEFINITELY NOT We stopped in here for lunch after visiting Port Patrick . We ordered three burgers and one sandwich. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the two ladies who served us were lovely, very chatty a knowledgeable of the area. Food was excellent, staff lovely and friendly. All round excellent. Went in for some lunch and had the Cajun chicken- was very tasty, cooked and seasoned well! Made a perfect light bite. Portion sizes were on the smaller side, but was perfect and manageable for me. Please never take the curly fries off of the menu! Lovely food , the chicken gougons were so crispy and tasted great. Service was good all.the girls were really friendly. It was a Saturday night and was busy , singer was on. The only thing I would say is the floor inside gets slippy when it's raining outside. Floor became dangerous. Lovely fresh food and great portions. Service also was really good and welcoming Takeaway - Underwhelming & Overpriced 2 basic burgers and with side of onion rings - £26!!! Called ahead to check doing takeaways and if it would be the whole menu or still just a small takeaway menu to which I was informed the full menu. We got excited as the photos of their food on recent Facebook posts looked great. Called up to order a Galloway burger and Battered Chicken burger but told they are not takeaway options by another member of staff so swapped to a beef burger which we added cheese and bacon plus a cajun chicken burger. Also added a side of onion rings. Collected and unwrapped burgers at our holiday lodge to find no salad or sauces, these were not offered at any point either - you probably have to ask for these! Just two basic burgers and some with onion rings. They tasted ok but nothing special. Even at half the price we would have been disappointed. Sorry but takeaway not worth it! Maybe sitting in restaurant might be better. Ps we added the grated cheese to the in the photo.
