Very large grounds. The colourful flowers in the walled garden was very good, not so much however in the rest of the garden. Ruinous Castle Kennedy was larger than expected though inaccessible. Shop was ok, yet surprised to see no souvenirs offered...!? Cafe was superb - friendly service by Leah, great scones (made at Castleinch), with delicious Galloway Lodge preserve and Cornish clotted cream (£4 all in). The grounds here are spectacular. 75 acres to walk around on and explore with very nice garden. Cannot get inside the castle ruins on your own but lots of great viewpoints and areas to explore all around the property. Awesome place for a walk in serene surroundings. Two beautiful lochs, gardens and excellent paths. Well worth a visit. Beautiful gardens, I'm sure they look lovely when it's not pouring down with autumn rain. Ticket price is fair, and the walks are grand. In nice weather you could spend a few hours strolling here. Lovely visit here, was a bit wet but the Walled Garden, the castle ruin and the Loch was beautiful. Also lovely tearoom with friendly staff, toilets are outside the grounds near the car park. No parking charge but small few to enter. Lovely gardens and great if you are a fan of The Wickerman. Simple parking, great wee cafe, friendly staff and you buy tickets on line or on the day. I am so glad my husband and I stumbled across Castle Kennedy Gardens while on our drive through Scotland. It is a beautiful place. The grounds are spectacular and learning the period of when they were created was icing on the cake. Make sure to visit. We have visited Castle Kennedy Gardens twice this year, once on a very wet day and once on a lovely crisp autumn day. The walled garden is fabulous full of plants you know and recognise which as a basic gardener, makes you feel at home & inspired which is refreshing. The spaces are large and open very dog & family friendly. The cafe has a covered outdoor area again allowing visitors space. Well worth a visit.
