Lovely campsite, reasonable size pitches, nice toilets and showers. Easy walk into town. Only downside no tv signal. Let us charge up (shower and charge devices) for 5£. Felt amazing to be kind of clean again on our Southern Upland Way journey. Nice location although it would have been nice to be able to see the castle from the campsite, as it’s owned by the same people. Our pitch was a bit noisy as it was just the other side of a wall next to a main road. It was also under a tree, so not only couldn’t we get a decent TV signal; the noise of the tree kept us awake on the breezy night we had. The shower blocks were fairly clean, although the three men’s showers could do with some attention - one had a choice of freezing cold or scalding hot, and the other two had problems with the ‘risers’, so it was difficult to position the shower head correctly. Very poor / unusable wi-fi. Good facilities including a washing up area, with bowls provided, and a wind up hose pipe for topping up your water (not just a tap!) Two girls on reception exceptional ,1st class service .Pitch large ,quiet ,but very friendly . Great walk into town .Back Bull pub excellent selection and welcoming. We will be back soon . Lovely walks to Thirlestane Castle and Leader Water and 10 minutes walk to the town of Lauder Overnight stop in a motorhome with good clean facilities on site that are required. We had a lovely quiet stay at Thirlestane Castle, lovely clean toilets and showers and nice walks for the dog. We stayed mid week so site was very quiet as it seems to be mainly seasonal pitches of which only a few were staying at the time. Suited our needs perfectly Just spent a long weekend at the Caravan park. Very well kept site, intact one of the nicest sites we've visited. Toilets and showers were clean and warm. Caretakers were flexible when we left a little late. We will definitely return.
