Big, beautiful woodland walk! Nice walking trails in the woods really good paths,very tranquil birds singing etc.nice for just a relaxing and no steep gradients. Lovely place to walk. There is a lot of history in the site, some additional information boards would be nice. There is not a great deal of parking, but you could easily park at Asda. The woodland is a great asset to Ashington. Picturesque and peaceful Great forest for dog walks! A lovely place for a and/or picnic. The place is full of character and has an abandoned train track running through it. The woods are quite large and its easy to forget you are in Ashington! (This is a fun place for anyone who is into geocacheing btw). There are a few things letting the place down however. Firstly there seems to be a lack of people who pick up their dogs mess. More worryingly is the occasional kids riding scramblers which poses a danger to walkers. Miles and miles of beautiful woodland paths to explore. Lovely trails, came here for parkrun which follows a lovely route through the woods and along the lake, paths get muddy after rain/in the winter so appropriate footwear is recommended One of my favourite local places to my dog. Lots of different routes to take including circular walks from 0.5 mile up to 2 miles. There are also two large lakes/ponds to find and my dog loves a swim. It's peaceful and full of nature too including deer, squirrels and many types of birds. Absolutely love this place to my dog. Peaceful and relaxing whatever time you go.
