Very nice pub. Cost atmosphere. Great decor. Some of the woodwork eagles are and the old bikes etc really give it some nice authenticity. Didn’t book but weee immediately seated and well looked after. The food was very nice. A nice pub with a good choice of food on the menu. Not the best range of decent beers and no lager is not a cask nor real ale! Toilets were clean and tidy but the pictures seem to be of rather poor quality. The Eagle & Child was recommended to us while we were holidaying nearby. We were gutted that we left visiting here until our last evening because it was amazing! The staff were very friendly. Drinks served quickly and food order taken quickly. The food is home cooked but we didn't have to wait too long for it to arrive. All members of our party enjoyed the meals we ordered and were gutted we were unable to fit in a pudding! We will definitely return next time we holiday in Wales. Thank you for such a evening! pub with a few decent vegan options that aren't just falafel burger/wrap or chickpea curry. The pub is clean and location is lovely, really nice with quirky decor inside, also some topiary and flowers out the front and beer garden out back. We stopped in on our way home and it just gave me so much nostalgia but most importantly the food was exactly what was required at a good price point. Hard to find vegan options in the area. Would absolutely recommend, even if just for a pint. Main detractor - claiming a bit of Mayo was a blue cheese sauce. See the picture of the "sauce" in a tub. I've had many blue cheese sauces - this is not one. Besides that, the food was ok. Furnishings are interesting. "Atmosphere" better when the fire place was going. They have an entertaining comic in the men's bathroom but nothing in the women's- ? ? Not sure why. Delightful all round. Thabyoh for a wonderful meal in our first night on holiday! We will return 🙂 What a outstanding place 👏 the food and the staff are not to mention the stunning grounds . Thanks for a very warm welcome we will be returning 😀. This has been the best home cooked food we’ve eaten out in a long time. I had the fish pie and my partner had the battered cod. Service was great, food even better. The Inn was cosy & friendly with a roaring fire. It’s worth a little drive out if you’re up north wales. Highly recommended. Thank you! Found this pub by chance on Google. What a stunning place. Stunning gardens. My partner ordered the mixed grill 😋 it was every bite had so much flavour. I had the eagle burger that was so tasty and filling. Portions sizes for the price are definitely good quality food for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back. I would advise booking a table as it can be quite a wait if you walk in but it is definitely worth the wait. Absolutely food ! Best lamb shank I’ve ate in a very long time. The meat just falls off the bone, gravy was spectacular & the service was fabulous. The ladies were lovely. Atmosphere is just beyond welcoming. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again very soon from Liverpool. We came here on Sunday for tea and the food was !! The steak , WOW !! Me and my family all had different meals and everything came piping hot. And the place looks lovely we will definitely be back again!! Staying a my a cottage near by . Googled for Sunday lunch and after reading the reviews decided to give the Eagle and child a go. It did not disappoint it was a beautiful pub the atmosphere was great and so was the food. During my time there I suffer with anxiety and it stops me from eating when I feel anxious although I felt so chilled there I had had a terrible morning with anxiety I couldn’t eat my Sunday lunch, one of the staff had noticed and came over to ask was everything ok, I explained my situation and she was so understanding and boxed my food up. My partner had the lamb roast he said it was and I had the chicken, although I didn’t eat it at the roast I was able to eat it when I got home it was beautiful would highly recommended for food and drinks. 🥰 Called in last minute yesterday on our first wedding anniversary. We were passing by and I'm heavily pregnant and was starving so thought we try our luck. We didn't have a booking but they found room for us. Once we sat down, we spotted a sign at the door which said fully booked for food. We felt sooo cheeky for asking then as we genuinely hadn't seen it on the way in! but really, really appreciated the staff squeezing us in as they easily could've turned us away. The food was amazing, so was the service. Lamb shank fell off the bone and my chilli was gorgeous. Food served piping hot too. Thank you so much for an awesome meal. We will be back and will remember to book ahead next time!
