Gorgeous view and great place for photos shoots, road can be a bit rough but still better than many UK roads Excellent bolt hole for fishing, swimming and cycling (not necessarily all at once of course!). A wonderful venue for a day out (good or bad weather). I highly recommend if you're in the area. We decided to do the 10 mile hike around the lakes, moderate walking ability! We had the dogs with us on leads as we crossed through land with free roaming ewes and lambs. We didn't really come across many walkers, mainly cyclists, there were fisherman dotted about the lakes as it was a perfect morning for it! As we neared the visitors centre coming back in there were a few bird watchers and then at the visitors centre it was mainly families at the adventure park and sat on the benches enjoying the weather. Great 10 mile around the lake, Bike hire available or take your own. Fishing too. Parking is £2 for the whole day. Visitor centre has a etc for a drink or rest break. As you / bike around there are some fantastic views of the area. Great spot for a around the lake. Or cycling etc. Great for children. Excellent cafe. Ospreys also to see if you are lucky. Beautiful lake, plenty of picnic places. The visitors centre is great, good cafe, though there are restrictions in place at the moment. Great cycle routes. Very scenic place. Revisited April 2022, everything is open. Had a lovely picnic overlooking the lake. After a we visited the cafe, the staff were great, had a lovely coffee and toasted teacake. We had a look at the osprey information and wandered around the shop which is much bigger than we imagined. Visited in August 2019, when I had my holiday in Wales. I was already tired from going every day to see attractions, so I wanted to have a half day with a lazy only. Hence I drove to this and walked a little bit. It wasn't too busy, but true that the weather was windy enough. The parking meter didn't work, so I had to go further to find another one. They have quite fair size car parks and the way goes there is very scenic - just like whole Wales. I have seen there is cafe/toilets/ice-cream at the visitor centre, as well as boats and bicycle hiring. It is definitely a good place to fishing and have some outdoor exercise. Due to the strong wind I just spent an hour or so have some fresh air, enjoyed the view then headed back to the cottage. Absolutely love this place. So many stunning walks. It's a wonderful place to spend time as a family. Gorgeous park for the children. Large area. Great for bikes, scooters and you can hire boats. This place is outstanding and beautiful. 9 mile reasonably flat around the reservoir. Car park £3 for the day however it shuts at 5.45pn so bare that in mind when planning your . Dogs must be kept on leads for the majority of the as sheep are roaming. Good facilities onsite too although I didn't need to use it. Really peaceful & not too busy.
