This was a visit. We made a reservation for Sunday roast and we got the veggie roast which was delicious. Great that they do half portions as we are not big eaters. The only disappointment was the bathrooms. The gents had no soap in the dispenser and really the whole bathroom area could easily be re-developed and perhaps given a lick of paint as it looks very very worn. I Amazing and staff. Really chips, peas. Pie was a bit stale. But a quite pub with very reasonably priced food. Would go again. Great pub with first class food and huge portions We visited this pub for a meal whilst on holiday. The were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The service was great and the food was delicious. In my opinion, this visit deserves 5 stars in every aspect. Thank you. We have eaten out every day and this pub is by far the best. If we visit this area again, we will not hesitate to eat here again. Dropped in after a dog walk around the area on a recent stay in Cumbria. Very welcoming and nice pub food. Even a special menu for our doggy friends! Could do with a bit of a spruce up but the were and there were plenty of options on the menu (from a vegetarian's perspective!) Great Little pub, just stumbled upon it on way back to hotel. Not busy when me & my wife called in at 1500 on a wednesday. I had the bbq wing starter & my wife had the leak & potato soup which I forgot to take photos of, but both were absolutely lovely, the wings were the best I have ever had. As for the mains homemade steak & ale pie which was beautiful and very filling, there was that much I couldn't eat it all. My wife had the 1/2 Sunday dinner and said it was also beautiful. This place is a little diamond. very and welcoming. Will miss this place when I go back home. We were on holiday and the pub was recommended to us by the owner of the caravan park that we were staying on. We enjoyed a meal, tasty and nicely presented, although portion was a little too much for me!! I had the veggie lasagne and my husband had the mixed grill. were and attentive, place has a relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend a visit. place to eat. We found this on our hols and as its called 'the greyhound' and one of our dogs is a greyhound we thought it might be nice. Lovely pub, very dog friendly! Has a vibe, all the are and welcoming and made not just us, but our 3 dogs (one massive greyhound/ small horse and 2 spainels) very welcome. The dog treats they sell went down very well! The food was well cooked. No mess, just proper pub food. The whole thing was exactly how a pub should be, no mess, food, staff, drink, music and local atmosphere. We enjoyed it so much we came back second time during our holiday. Would highly recommend, especially for those with dogs.
