Dog friendly pub, the were very welcoming. We had a lovely meal, the food was really tasty and the was huge. We booked a for tonight's last day of our holiday. Nice place easy to get to from mum and dads . Generous supply of food on the plate even when get the two for twenty six quid deal . Recommend the steak pie amazing chunks of meat and can have more gravy added if needed. Sausage was quality as well . Loads a food no room for desert mind . Nice outside bit near fields only one ale on tap though . Didn’t get the idea me girl wanted hot water not cold but other than that not bad experience at all. Bargain cus me mum paid and if she didn’t 13 quid for a large not to be sniffed at . 13 of us went for lunch and the food was excellent, not a single complaint. The were great, the were huge and the whole experience was fantastic. Thanks to everyone involved!! During mid move and having no cooking facilities we treated ourselves to a Friday night treat. 1st visit to what is going to definitely be one of our regular go to places to eat out. Hadn't booked a table but was welcomed warmly and asked to take a seat. Drinks order taken place at the table. And then we enjoyed the best ever t bone steaks we've had. A first for my husband. Plentiful portions. Gorgeous proper home cooked chips. Coleslaw to die for. And cress... Wowzers I'd forgotten how much I liked cress. Not something you see dressing a side salad these days. Sadly I'd been working long hours and wasn't feeling the best so asked for a doggy bag for my leftover steak and was presented with a lovely tin foil takeaway tray. Was lovely to have music you could hear but wasn't over powering that you struggled to hold a conversation. See you soon for another t bone or perhaps a Sunday roast as I've now been informed at work that they too are to die for. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Great service, and great food. The mushroom soup and Steak & Ale pie were out of this world! We were staying nearby and dropped in with no reservation for an evening meal. They were very welcoming, food was very nice with huge portions. I would highly recommend. Had a nice visit for lunch, really friendly & very helpful.. good honest food & huge portions!!! A lady called Emma looked after us & was great, even brought our pooches a bowl of water. Will definitely go again Went for drinks on Friday evening, the restaurant had 4 occupied tables which seemed odd, I expected it to be busy. My wife went into the ladies which, she said we're filthy, I attempted to use the gents, the toilet had dried excrement sprayed up the back of it, toilet rolls were scattered on the dirty floor so not what I would expect in an eatery! In the bar, a sweeping brush and a mop were propped against the main bar, no one appeared to be using them, so, we're obviously remaining from an aborted attempt to clean the place! A chair in the restaurant had the bottom hanging on the floor, so the overall appearance of the place was shabby, unclean and totally unattractive. Not a place I would normally use or recommend. Went for a family with my mum and kids, tagging along with the Doctor of the Dumb Bishop (long story!). Atmosphere and setting were actually lovely—quiet area, outdoor seating was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the surroundings. The kids ordered pizzas that were meant to come with smiley faces—got basic little waffles instead. Cheap pizzas, overloaded with cheddar—not great. Mum and I ordered breakfast. We asked for no black pudding, mushrooms, or tomatoes, and requested extra meat (bacon and sausage). What turned up was the default breakfast—nothing was changed. The sausages were really poor quality and the bacon was both overcooked and undercooked at the same time: chewy, fatty, and not in a good way. The black pudding? Rock solid. Also worth mentioning: there was a dead bird outside, feathers everywhere. Bit grim when you're trying to enjoy a with the kids. Overall, the were polite but not attentive to the order specifics, and food quality just wasn’t up to scratch. Unfortunately place was not very clean. Table was very sticky and staff, although pleasant enough were not very attentive. Had a potato which had no actual potato in it as appeared to have been overcooked or reheated and impossible to eat any of the outside as rock hard. Place looked a bit run down with holes in decking outside. Went to the ship on Sunday for a family not the best. Had the Sunday dinner potato's weren't mashed properly had large hard lumps in them everything else was not very warm. Couldn't complain about the size of but there was too much and lots got wasted. £2 for half a coke but £4.20 for a pint (outrageous by the way)how does that work. Waitresses pleasant enough but manageress needs to go to charm school . Will not be going back Me and my family came here for Sunday dinner, it was lovely and a huge meal! I took my little boy to the bathroom and I was absolutely disgusted! The toilets were full of urine, black mould absolutely everywhere, I had to take him to pee outside. Absolutely awful. However the food was nice. We are absolutely over the moon with the buffet and service today for our mam’s funeral. The food was just beautiful, all homemade and enough to feed an army. Thank you so much Julian and staff. 110% from start to finish 🥰 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
