The accommodation is located amidst nature and the surroundings were serene, but the itself was a huge disappointment. We stayed at Goldcrest 3, which was very old, poorly maintained, and had an unpleasant smell throughout. The flooring carpets were worn out, and the sofa was saggy, stained, and completely unusable. Only 4 towels were provided for 6 guests. The bathrooms were the biggest letdown—shower fittings were outdated, water pressure was almost nonexistent, and hot water was inconsistent. One bathroom had only a tub with no shower curtain, which was highly inconvenient, especially for elders. In another bathroom, the latch was broken. To make matters worse, there was no water supply for almost 4 hours, leaving us without drinking water and unable to use the toilets. Lighting across the cottage was dim and uneven, making the place feel dull and depressing. The only positives were the hot tub, which was excellent, and the location and parking. ⚠️ Advice to future guests: There are newer cottages on the property, which are smaller and more like caravan-style units, but far better maintained. If you choose to here, it’s worth booking one of those instead of the old lodges like Goldcrest. Overall, this property is in desperate need of maintenance and upgrades. The poor condition, smell, and lack of basic amenities completely ruined the experience. I would strongly not recommend staying in the old cottages until major improvements are made. Visited here 3 times in different lodges and have always had a really great time. Definitely recommend the lodges always meet expectations and have told some many friends and family which have visited too. Only negative which I’ve experienced every is that the tv requires WiFi which I use my phone but this is hard as phone needs to be placed in the best place to get as good signal as I can with the location being of grid this isn’t easy would highly suggest they need to install WiFi even if it’s just for the tvs to connect would massively help. Still always a great time here. Myself, husband and children recently had a week at Primrose 15 for our family moon following our wedding and were extremely impressed. The reception was welcoming upon arrival and all staff seemed lovely throughout our stay. The was perfect for us as a family with the hot tub set up in the perfect surroundings. The enclosed garden was ideal for myself and my husband to relax knowing that the children were safe. The booklet provided by the team was extremely helpful for us to find our way round locally. The was clean and tidy and was a really big size which meant we could comfortably. The was decorated beautifully by the staff and was well thought about. The had parking directly outside which made the unloading and loading of the car really easy also. For us, it was the perfect and we couldn’t have asked for more. We would 100% recommend Kaowood and even sent a card to thank all staff for our upon our return home. Lights still not working under the bed Cracked taped up tile in the kitchen Sofa still grubby needs a good clean No privacy needs a gate on the side to stop the maintenance guy just walking around to check the hot tub whilst im in my swim suit would have been nice if he had shouted first! Hot tub was absolutely boiling couldn’t use it for an hour until the maintenance guy came out and had to collect the hose pipe myself to cool it down before we could use it, leg of the chair broke in the kitchen very very watered down washing up liquid Just back from an amazing at Kaowood. We had the Woodland Lodge. The was ready for our arrival, including hot tub ready for use 😊😊 The was very clean and the hot tub was checked daily for the quality of water. We both enjoyed our very much, it is so quiet and relaxing and would highly recommend this to anyone else. The two gentleman on site are really friendly and helpful, nothing is too much for them, they are always happy to help. Thank you so much for a very warm welcome and tremendous stay.
