We’ve been coming every year to Pendine as a family since 2015. We always stay with ParkDean and visit multiple times a year usually. This time however has been a real let down. We paid for a fancy lodge/van this time costing us £1600 for the week and there were many cleanliness issues and broken appliances. The kettle was full of limescale so our first coffee ended up having floaters! One shower is broken, there’s cobwebs in the corners of rooms etc. The swimming pool facilities have really let themselves down and the changing rooms stink of faeces. We visited in May this year and noticed the smell and after visiting again now the smell is still there! It needs a clean and sorting out because it’s disgusting. The restaurant food has slipped also with our last few meals being well overcooked and burnt. We’re really disappointed with this stay and it’s made us not want to return. Had a great holiday. The was lovely clean and comfortable. Excellent for a week away for the price. Even the weather was for the end of September, early October. Pendine used to be very limited for choice in places to eat. That has changed. Facilities were good, food was also and reasonably priced in the restaurant. We camped, the small pitches were big enough to put a large tent on, only issue was with the grass on the pitch being non existent so it was dirt. Apart from that all was good. The holiday it's self is located in a great area for some nice surrounding scenery and having the beach close by makes it that much better. The only issues we had is the had dirty sofas and the plates were very dirty, of course you clean these before use but you don't expect to see them like that. The bar and grill food was great but the toilets were dirty with flies flying around inside. This was not the perfect holiday but it certainly was great. The was comfortable aside of the things mentioned above. We went to the bar near reception and was helped by a staff member called Lydia. She made time to tell us about attractions to visit and took a keen interest in our day. She is a great asset to the team. So in a nut shell, we loved our holiday but it could of been much better providing the above issues didn't occur. Upon arrival at our we found the dirty we had the sweep the floors and clean the toilet before using it. We went down to the arcade to then be completely ripped off by the change machine charged £10 and only got £6 when going to speak to the staff to tell them Sue the worker shouted at us and told us its never happened before, she was extremely rude and then started talking about us to her friends whilst we were stood there. Half of the machines were broken or just swallowing your money. The entertainment was very poor and the staff looked uncomfortable trying to entertain, no entertainment on the friday night a very poor quiz show on the saturday and nothing on the Sunday. The chicken shop was terrible bland yet salty. Definitely wont be returning. One thing is that you are right on the beach so lovely walks. Overall, we had a lovely time at Pendine Sands. The location is charming and peaceful, with beautiful seaside views and a quaint atmosphere. The itself is large and offers a variety of venues to explore. We especially enjoyed the Showbar, it was spacious, had plenty of seating, and even stocked our favourite Sahara nuts, which was a nice touch! We stayed in a Marro’s in the Meadow Drive area. While the was clean and tidy, it did feel quite dated. The table had mismatched edging, and the seating area was extremely firm and uncomfortable, which made relaxing difficult. Additionally, we were placed at the furthest point of the park, right next to a busy and noisy road. This was disappointing, especially as we believed we had booked a higher-range and hoped for a more central or peaceful location. Another letdown was the Duck Inn pub near reception. It was the closest venue to Meadow Drive, but unfortunately, it only opened Friday to Sunday, something that wasn’t advertised prior to our stay. On one occasion, it closed earlier than the stated hours, and other guests mentioned this was a common occurrence. This made us hesitant to return, as we couldn’t rely on it being open. We also found the signal throughout the to be very poor. While the does offer free Wi-Fi, it was only strong enough to receive texts, not enough for streaming, social media or to Google Information. The television signal was also unreliable; even a bit of wind would knock out most channels, leaving us with only BBC. Despite these issues, we did enjoy our holiday overall. With a few improvements to comfort, transparency, and connectivity, the experience could be even better. Extremely poor experience overall. The site was shockingly unclean — from stained bedding to water still dripping off the only provided crockery and mugs. Dirty pans and no basic essentials like tea towels made it a very uncomfortable and inconvenient stay. To make matters worse, all the onsite facilities were closed, with no prior warning. While checking out, I witnessed at least five other guests complain — one woman was visibly upset that the pool, which was advertised as open, was in fact closed, leaving her child disappointed. The is very poorly equipped. If you do decide to go (which I strongly advise against), come fully prepared, as the nearest large supermarket is about a 30-minute drive away. There are a couple of small shops within a 10–15 minute walk, but they’re limited. Without a doubt, this was the worst I’ve ever stayed at. Absolutely not worth the time or money. Avoid. Site is brilliant. Close to beach. Apart from the we stayed in, we had a lovely break. The space between bed and wall was about 10 inches. We struggled getting in and out of bed. We are elderly and was fortunate to fell into the bed while struggling getting in and out of the bed. But the shower was lovely. Site feels safe and well kept.
