On holiday staying with friends. Went here with wife and friends who stay local and recommended it. The service was excellent and the selection although not extensive was more than adequate. Two of us had lamb which was excellent. My wife had the hake with risotto which she could not fault. An excellent evening. Would highly recommend. Called in for a meal as we were passing. The food was excellent, we both had vegetarian options (there was a very good selection) although we are not vegetarian. It was delicious. The service was very good, the staff were friendly and service was quick and efficient. The location was lovely with plenty seating outside by the river. Highly recommended! Called on a sunny Saturday afternoon for lunch. Excellent service, the food was stunning and the scenery was spectacular. Located in a beautiful part of the countryside, with a shallow river running adjacent, perfect for the dog to have a paddle. Ample parking and reasonably priced. Highly recommended⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great service, great food and great location by the riverside! Food was yummy and they cater really well for allergies and dietary needs. They had different menus depending on your needs, gluten free, vegan, allergen menu. We visited as a family of 6 and ate fish and chips (standard and gluten free), pulled meat wrap, the kids ate a burger and spaghetti Bolognese. The puddings were also amazing. We were all well fed and happy. Thank you. Lovely cosy pub situated next to a gentle river. Fantastic quality food sensibly priced, good portions. 9 of us (plus 2 dogs) on holiday booked a table online with no trouble for the following evening, 3 or 4 very attentive and friendly waitresses served us outside (dogs outside only) couldn't fault anything at all. We'll definitely be going back before we Go home. Will add that we had a couple of days prior tried to book a pub not far down the road on two occasions and been given the cold shoulder which as it turned out was a result otherwise we may have missed out on this perfect little find! From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. After being seated, no menus were brought to our table — even after 10 minutes — so I had to walk back to the bar and get them myself. While waiting for our food, it was difficult to order more drinks as staff seemed focused only on the tables they were specifically assigned to. When drinks were eventually ordered, they took quite a while to arrive. The food took some time to come out, but given they were busy, that was understandable. Two of us ordered steaks — one medium well, one medium. My medium steak arrived rare with blood running from it. I’ve never sent food back before, but it was far too underdone for me. A new member of staff told me it wouldn’t be long, but 20 minutes passed and still no replacement. By then, everyone else at our table had finished their meals. My friend managed to get another staff members attention she apologised and said she would find out what’s happening, but it became clear my meal had been forgotten entirely and would have to be remade. By 9:40pm, we decided to cancel it as we didn’t have time to wait. After telling the staff we no longer wanted the meal, they proceeded to openly talk about us within earshot, which was very unprofessional. When the bill came, only the steak was removed from the total — no drinks were offered as a goodwill gesture for the ruined meal. Overall, a disappointing experience from start to finish.
