Wonderful as you reach the summit. Very easygoing to the top as it has steps leading you to the summit. Definitely worth seeing the wonderful countryside. 👍🏻 An ancient castle just on the northern edge of Mere. Steep climb but breathtaking from the top. Whoever said Wiltshire wasn't beautiful!! Awesome views. Good place to chillax. No castle here! Fantastic panoramic of the surrounding Dorset and Wiltshire countryside. Not too strenuous to get to the top (there are steps for the steeper bits) and there are two free car parks in the charming village of Mere. It's a that used to have a castle on it. It has great and is very easy to access. Can obviously get quite windy so wrap up. Lovely walk many paths to chose great all round Stunning from this small but steep above the town of Mere. If you are a local or passing on the a303, I really recommend the climb. I came here as part of a circular walk from Whitesheet Hill. For more details, check out the route on my website: routestorelax. Yet, there is parking down in Mere, if you just want to climb the hill. As well as the views, there's a memorial to local soldiers, that fell in World War Two; whilst trying to retake 112 near Caen. Climb this to at least respect these boys, and appreciate our freedom to climb any we choose. Cheers Fantastic of Dorset and the town of Mere. There are a couple of car parks in the town to use ( not sure if they are free ), and the is close by. There are several routes to use, all have great views. Lovely views; this was my safe haven through the first lockdown in 2020. Lovely little walk up to the hill, great view and not very crowded place,so I really recommend it. Lovely over Dorset and Wiltshire. of Shaftesbury, Duncliffe, King Alfreds tower and Mere downs.A monument at the top and some benches to rest at before the decent. On occasions goats are on long that can be seen from castle hill. there are steps to the top. Looks really nice driving by on the A303 :) Wonderful of the picturesque and quintessentially Olde English town of Mere and the surrounding landscape - absolutely delightful! Nice for a short walk. The are very nice and a friendly goat came up and let my two year old stroke it. Shame about the noise from the a303 but what can you do. Very beautiful countryside and when you get to the top there are lovely all across oh and your see 🐐 goats Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
