We had a Sunday lunch, 3pm I think we booked and because of the rain didn't leave till after 7 me thinks...😁 We are on holiday in Kirkby but liked the look of the menu at The Black Bull so visited for our wedding anniversary We definitely weren't disappointed, a varied menu with very reasonable prices, we both had steak and Guinness pie with mash and seasonal veg, absolutely delicious and piping hot. Pudding was the best Eton mess I have ever had.The staff were very and the service excellent We would definitely highly recommend 👌 dog as well which is a big plus for us We sat in the beer garden fabulous views on the day we were there it was very hot, could have done with a table brolly. Service was good , food was good and the pub looked like you'd have a great time inside of the weather was bad. Dig too. What a lovely quaint wee dog pub. Excellent Sunday roast, could not fault anything it was absolutely delicious. You could take your pudding home which also was delicious. Fantastic service and very pleasant staff. We just went for a meal at this excellent country pub. The food was supurb. The real ale was very good. Parking can be a little tight and consideration has to be given to locals when parking in the village. Called in late on a Friday afternoon 3.30pm or so. We were advised food was finished until 5pm. However they said if we just wanted something simple they would Russel it up for us. They suggested the steak pie with mash and veg. Which is probably what I would have ordered anyway if the menu was on still. Food was superb, the ale superb and the service possibly even better. Sensibly priced was even more of a bonus.
