When we arrived for lunch, the staff were still busy getting set up and running around setting up for an event (which is fair, but they should be ready with everything by the opening time). They weren't sure what to do with us and it was all a bit awkward. Then, our waiter (who was perfectly fine and friendly!) was busy with the event, forgot our drinks and it was difficult to get his attention. The food was a let-down. The trout dish was bland and watery - the risotto was clearly just made with rice, chard and water. No flavour, herbs, cream or anything. The trout was ok but also lacking in flavour. Not sure what to do with the lemon rind on the plate. The burger patty was overcooked. I mentioned this to our waiter, he apologised but ran off and did nothing to correct it. We paid and left. It was a shame and we wouldn't return. Really nice atmosphere and good service, but I didn't come for that. I came for the food which was a bit disappointing especially for this price range which is upper class for Slovenian standards. The Osso Buco I had was dry and the side dish had zero flavour. The burger patty was overcooked and the schnitzel over salted. The Ravioli with truffles were great though. Nothing special about this restaurant. The prices don't justify the food not even remotely. I don't usually eat at the same place when I'm visiting somewhere but this place was an exception. We stayed at their hotel and had 4 meals in total (+breakfast) here and everything was so good. The food was delicious, staff was so kind and friendly (and fast too), the wine selection excellent. My favourite was the deer dish. This restaurants can be find in such a peaceful setting. It is a bit hidden but it is so serene to sit there and enjoy the view. Our waiter was so nice and kind. They adapted to my allergies without any hesitance or problemns.
