The highlight is definitely the animals – you can feed straight from your hand, which feels really special. There are also goats wandering around, a bit playful and sometimes pushy, but it adds to the fun. It’s a nice way to connect with and enjoy some quiet time. Afterward, you can stop at their bar for a good coffee and relax with the view. A simple but really nice experience worth the trip! A Must-Visit: Jelenov Greben. ​Jelenov Greben in Olimje, Slovenia, offers an incredibly beautiful and unique experience that I highly recommend, especially if you love and deers. The natural surroundings and environment here are simply stunning and truly unbelievable. ​I visited during a weekday and found that parking was more than sufficient. I cannot speak for the weekend situation, but on a working day, it was hassle-free. ​This is a wonderful destination, particularly for families with young children, as the unique opportunity to be so close to and the is memorable. ​The location also features a restaurant and a shop selling various local products that support regional production. I found the food in the restaurant to be very delicious. Regarding the shop, most of what I purchased was excellent—the honey and homemade juices were particularly tasty. However, I have to mention one exception: the sausage was not recommendable; it was too dry and tough. Everything else, though, was fantastic. ​Overall, Jelenov Greben is a fantastic day trip destination and a beautiful escape into Slovenian nature. A bit sad that you can get meat at this place after you go to feed them and pet them. I did not order anything here we just came to see the deer. They were very friendly and cute! The view is spectacular as well. Visited in September 2025. We were there for two nights and loved every second of it! Facilities are amazing, rooms are cozy and beautiful, the kindest staff we’ve ever seen. The restaurant is fantastic both for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Great option for a quick getaway or a few day stay. Deers are friendly and always hungry 😅 Highly recommend visiting Tourist center Piki (just a 10min walk from Jelenov Greben). Beautiful place, and a lot of deers around that you can feed with corn (buy food in souvenir shop for 1€). There is a good restaurant with fair prices and coffee bar also. Nice place to spend a day. We spent three wonderful days at the beginning of July and left with only the best impressions. The staff welcomed us with smiles, warmth, and genuine kindness – we truly felt like part of a big, welcoming family. The food was delicious and prepared with care, and the accommodation was spotlessly clean and tidy – a true haven for both body and soul. The surrounding felt like something out of a fairytale – the greenery, the peace, and the sight of and does freely roaming around made everything even more magical. Our daughter felt like a real princess from a fairytale! I wholeheartedly recommend this place – not only for its cleanliness and comfort but also for the sincere hospitality and warmth of the staff that make this place truly special. Amazing place where animals can be seen in their natural habitat. You can buy food for them (1e) and feed them wherever you find them. No fee is charged to just come and watch them. Free parking. Restaurant serves tasty dishes, we had goulash and risotto with prosciutto ham..both very tasty and served well. Gift shop is full of own local specialities and is apiece of art actually. Even price tags are beautiful 😍 We bought different liquors, stuffed toys for kids. Soundings are really nice, whiole place is a great way to spend the day. Great idea of the homestead with that are used to being around people and even eat from your hand and full of additional offers - a restaurant with good food, friendly staff, nice workshops for children in the Piki center and many other options in the vicinity. We definitely recommend it to families with or without children, there is something for everyone. Only the accommodation left us with a slightly worse impression, the rooms are in poor condition, the balcony door was completely broken and could not be opened, and the toilet was poorly cleaned, it smelled of stale dirt.
