This is really a nice centre. It has a and a shop. We also visited the cafeteria it is fantastic with outstanding of the bay. All the staff were very friendly and polite. The cafeteria has a great atmosphere and the food looked really nice. 21st October 2024 and the centre Cafe is still as good. Staff are fantastic and the food is quality Nice place to visit, to learn more about Newbiggin, and its history and heritage. There are free leaflets of walking tours of the area, including an art trail and heritage trail. Free to visit. Free parking, too. Café, gift shop, toilets, and (small charge for this). Very good that has displays about the hard life the fishing community had and has a great period film wirh actual fiml of the time. Lots of good exhibits. Nice adjoining cafe with outside seating fir the warmer days. Great depiction of life for fishermen, their wives and local folk and the lifeboat men. Well worth the small admission charge. Lovely cafe with great of the bay ... better without the fret, wind and rain but still a lovely location. Lovely location on end of accessible prom. Good cup of tea and lovely cake and highlight was the local folk band who play live every Saturday morning. Fabulous experience. To be honest we didn't know what to expect, but was surprised, we actually enjoyed the Museum. As I'm disabled, my partner had to pay £2.50 . When you see the opening of the it looked very small, but it is like a tardis! The history of fishing, RNLI and other facts and history of the sea in Newbiggin on sea. There is kids dress up, colouring, and other kids activities for the kids to do. Totally recommend. There is a a cafe, in which we didn't go in, a lovely gift shop, toilets and an art & craft fair was happening at the same time. There is a huge car park adjacent to the and is disabled friendly path & the museum. If you go by St Bartholomews church there are stairs only. Not a bad price not the biggest musium but still interesting. And for the price you get into the rocket musium nearby Fantastic cafe... With fantastic views. Superb polite professional smartly dressed staff. Superb value breakfast.. with tea and toast included..very tasty. Also the is a must..a steal at only £2.50 a head. The toilets have to be the cleanest toilets in the world. Shed loads of parking and you are about 10 foot away from the beach!!! Actually don't go...stay away...what have I said!!! You will make it harder for us "locals" to get a seat..😂 A canny museum. Very informative of times gone by in Newbiggin- by - the-sea its a voluntary contribution but plenty to see and experience its part of a cafe too with scenic across the bay This is a beautifully placed venue overlooking the golden sandy bay of Newbiggin- by- the- Sea. Friendly staff and nice coffee. I would have had cake but it was a little early. Great place to visit with the family and do a spot of crab fishing with the kids Small but very interesting and a lot of history A great spot to visit, the Maritime Centre offers local history displays, a full-sized boat, and hosts events like film nights and fairs. The café serves meals, snacks, and kids’ options with stunning bay views. There’s also a gift shop, toilets, and ample parking, all right on the promenade—perfect after a seaside walk. Went here for a coffee after our Parkrun at Newbiggin. Great location and beautiful views. We sat outside and enjoyed our coffee in the sunshine. Little hatch to order from when sitting outside. Great service. Tea and coffee served promptly, however a further 25 minute wait followed for two toasted panini 's and the only after we had chased it up!. Coffee gone and tea clay cold. I won't be back.
