Tavern Volax

Tinos, Greece Greek restaurant

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Spacious place with a calm setting. The seafood was fresh and tasty, and the service was polite. A good spot for lunch or dinner. Best Greek chicken ever, I guess because they run in the wild in the cool breeze... It is false marketing to offer "cold chocolate drink" and then serve Nesquick with ice cubes. We had also ordered some "sweet of spoon", which never arrived. I hesitate to say it, but giving two stars 🌟 is being quite generous. I had high expectations of this tavern being in a traditional village, however I am disappointed. The goat (katsikaki ) with potatoes was so much fatty and certainly not local however well cooked and the potatoes too. The worst was this zucchini-cheese pie (kolokithopita) The phyllo dough was not handmade. It gave me heartburn, and I could feel the oil on the roof of my mouth all day. I couldn’t sleep because of it. I had the expectation everything to be cooked traditionally and hand made but not. The owners are bit lazy and you see it on the way they serve the people. My bad to have high expectations for something traditional and hand-made,just another touristic ordinary tavern-not for Greek standards, good for tourists only! Total price 22.80 -fair enough! Cute cafe with amazing views. Had a very good Freddo Cappuccino. Beautiful location in the mountains overlooking the sea. Deliciously authentic home cooked Greek food. Great locally brewed beer. Friendly service and clean bathrooms. Lovely outdoor taverna in the beautiful village of Volax, we had probably the best salad of our lives at Taverna Volax. The Volax Salad is crunchy, zesty, fresh and full of flavour so don't miss this or the incredible local specialty of fried sun dried tomatoes or the delicious baked eggplant. Great for vegetarians and omnivores alike Taverna Volax is another example of Great Greek Gastronomy! 🇬🇷🍽️🏆 I have been rating for quite some time, never wrote a review though. But for this one I need to make an exception. The only way to rate this anything above 1 means you never got to experience even adequate food in your life ever. Granted the place is nice and the service was what you call average, but the food... OW MY GOD IT WAS BAD... The portions small, the taste indifferent at best. Avoid kopanisti xinomizithra (Κοπανιστη ξινομυζήθρα) at all cost (in our case it might have also been spoiled). There is another restaurant which is far better for your money.
