Triantaraki in Triantaro is a lovely spot with friendly staff and tasty dishes. We enjoyed the juicy pork chops, the flavorful pasta with minced meat, and a fresh, well-made dakos. Warm atmosphere and worth a visit! It was cold though, but they gave us blankets. It is a nice traditional place, quite small. We had mezes and tsipouro, beer and I had a carafe of the house white wine. I really liked the fava with chunks of smoked herring. The taramasalata with a green sauce / oil (oregano?) was also delicious. Getting here is not so easy, you could have quite a bit of a walk plus having to climb a good few stairs. Be aware that this is a café, not a full taverna / restaurant. Didn’t enjoy what I ordered - the lentils and smoked cod were doused in a vinaigrette but the whole combination didn’t work. The pastry on the cheese pie was tough, as though it had been microwaved, and was pretty bland. The cocktail took an age to come and was ok. Nice setting though with a good view. I'm visiting Tinos many years and Triantaraki is a must every time!! The quality in food is sooo good and tasty! For breakfast and got dinner this is the place!! But boy did the service fall apart from start to finish: started off superbly well and degraded into forgotten orders and multiple reminders. STILL: surely worth a visit. Great location! The village is wonderful and idyllic. The service, however, was extremely slow — painfully slow. The breakfast menu is simple and tasty, but with very limited options and no consideration for allergies. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it for a proper meal. Perhaps just stop by for a coffee while visiting the village. This is one of the few times I've been moved emotionally by a restaurant experience. The food is great and the selection is very good. Stick to the local dishes, and you are in for treat. Service is also very good. Just keep in mind this is a small local restaurant, not a fine dining experience. But the combination of the location, food and animal friendly people who work and live in this area makes it for an authentic experience that needs to be appreciated by sitting dow, putting the phone away and taking your time to just be, while enjoying the great dishes on menu that all made fresh. After trying other great/recommended locations in Tinos, I still find myself wanting to come here for a great meal. Taste is decent, but it's overpriced. Portions are small compared to other restaurants. And 40% of the main dishes where unavailable when we came in september, which was a shame (dinner). Charged 2€ for ham on an expensive Pizza, even though it says 1€ on menu card (and it was literally 5 ultra small/thin pieces on a pizza). 3€ charge for 4 thin pieces of dry bread. On many nearby restaurants you would get a whole fresh baked bread with olive oil for less. On the positive side; there was a playground for the kids on the other side of the place.
