It’s worth heading up the Schlossbergstraße to a viewpoint and castle ruin (not much left standing) on the Schlossberg. However, the best view of Schiltach is from the other side of the river. Shiltach is one of the most beautiful town in the Baden Wuttermberg in Germany, a very charming village, with half timbered houses, flower decorations, the river, nice landscapes. Worth a visit. Quiet scenic and picturesque little town. Not overly large..yet nice to have a leisurely stroll. Right in the middle they have a interessting museum of apothecary and numerous restaurants and cafes to eat or have a break. Quaint little German village, if you fancy Schwarzwald kirshen torte (black forest gateaux) dont buy it for your kids as it is illegal for them to sell it to under 18s due to the spirit content (that's what the owner of the cafe told us whilst taking back my daughter's slice) nice cake though!
