While driving through the Black Forest we stopped in this pretty town, parked and walked around to explore. This was the only open place in the afternoon and yo be quite honest, looked nice. But the owner thought it was his job to push us around onto a small table on the inside of the bistro, saying that the tables for 4 by the windows are got 4 people not 2. While we tried to ask again he refused to budge, then allowed 2 couples on to 2 of these 4 person tables, which was really stupid. The food was nice but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone Absolutely beautiful place!!! Great beer and snacks, next time we will come for dinner! We had souvlaki with a big salad. The salad was gorgeous with mushrooms, croutons, balsamic and the homemade Tzatziki with olives was lovely. If I had to criticize anything and I really don't want to I would have to say the souvlakis were slightly on the small side in terms of the cubes/spirals of pork as we are used to bigger chunkier pieces on our souvlaki but they tasted absolutely stunning. The aroma of food as you approached the restaurant really made you feel you were in for something special. My wife had a homemade strawberry/lemonade which was also Incredible. I wish we had time to try the cake Veggie Burger Was out of this world tasty! I almost ordered a second one. The flame Kuchen was good. I am not a big fan of flame Kuchen. But I would say it is average. Beer cold be a tick colder but was also good. Prices for the food I also find fair. But if you want to give the animals a break and take a chance , the veggie burger is the way to go. Really really tasty. Service was a little slow. But the food and location makes up for it. Highly recommend going here. This was an amazing find by my husband in the heart of Blackforest. We ordered Flammenkuchen, strawberry lemonade, Thai salad, Asia Burger and finished with blackforest cake. The food is super yum with an amazing amazing view 😍 We both had the vegan burger which was really nice and light. It came with one of the best side salads I've had, and a portion of paprika crisps. The waitress was very friendly and spoke good English. There's plenty of seating indoors and outside by the river. Highly recommend the greek homemade lemonades, although a little expensive, worth it for a cold refreshment. €40 for food and drinks. We had al lovely evening among friends and enjoyed delicious food. The host was amazing and super friendly.
