Such a hidden gem. We had the whole to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon. I could have spent hours in there. It's very well organized, has nice explanations all along and a great flow. Keep in mind all text is only in German but you can download an app for English and French audio. Auto & Uhrenwelt in Schramberg Germany is a with a unique collection of clocks and cars. Go back to a different time when objects were beautiful and still being made in Europe. Very few visitors for this excellent museum. Unique historical review of the Junghans history. Very diverse collection showing the evolution of life in Germany short after WW2. Interesting one wheel trailer exhibition. Two drawbacks: only in German and no airco, it was hot that day. Interesting museum. The top floor is for the watches and clocks and has some history of them both in the Black Forest area. The children were not so interested in this but it was definitely worth a walk through before spiraling down through the automotive portion of the museum. The rest of the was mostly automotive oriented, like the other included in the four-museum ticket we purchased, it had many models that were unique and I had never heard of before, lots of motorized bicycles and motorcycles that were not in production for long, the most interesting were the moped/scooters, there were so many cool designs over the years that have fallen by the wayside of style and history, and also the 3-wheeled vehicles both for road use and for helping people who could not walk get around. I had no idea the concept of motorized "personal mobility scooters" had been around so long! There were also some displays of what life was like in the early and mid-1900s in the form of shops and what the rooms of houses/apartments looked like, along with the bits of technology from the era. Only reason I knocked a star off is that none of the audio/visual displays seemed to be working, there were earphones but all were static and many small video monitors that were not on. There was only one of dozens that was playing something. I do not know if they played only in German or other languages, but I understand enough I think they would have added to the experience, which is why I deducted one star. Otherwise the value with the four-museum ticket was incredible to see all the treasures in this museum. We had no expectations as it is in a little town in the Black Forest but the collection is fantastic! My son was in heaven at all the old cars from all over the world. The clock exhibition was fascinating. I think this place is hugely underappreciated. There are 4 museums, we skipped diesel. You have 5 floors of historic cars and bikes, old electronics and watches, 2 floors of perfectly preserved racing cars and fire tracks, and small but charming toy trains exhibit. A must visit , it’s timeless and amazing . Great place to go if you like old cars and watches and want to learn something new about them:) Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
