On the road sign it says it's open from Tuesday till Sunday, but when you enter it says it's open Wednesday-Sunday. Once you get there, no parking spots are inside, but you can leave your vehicle on the side of the road, on the gravel and make your way 50m down the alley towards the site. The remains of the only stone fort on the Limes wall in this region. Worth a visit. The Guy in charge of the museum shows genuine enthusiasm for the topics he presents and was very friendly.. Jidova camp is the most important and best preserved military construction of this kind in the entire Roman Dacia. The archeological research, restoration and consolidation work that took place here helps us to understand how the inhabitants lived 2000 years ago. Some of the Roman buildings, the commander's building, the officers' building, the grain warehouse are still visible. On the south side, a guard tower and partially the towers of the main gate have been rebuilt. In the small museum there are artifacts discovered during the excavations. What impressed me the most was the central heating system that the camp had. This is a nice place, full of history, the guide was really nice and well prepared. The guide was very knowledgeable and he answered my many questions about the grounds and the relics found inside. The restoration job looks great (to my untrained eye) and what's still standing is a historical wonder. The sun was shining, the buildings were amazing and I had a really great time.
