Terryglass Harbour

Portumna, Ireland Marina

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. What a find. Lots to see and do. Wide expanse of water (well it is the shores of lough Derg). Nice country walk well laid out. Nice BBQ with seating areas. Fine big harbour with plenty of moorings and plenty of boats moored. Toilet facilities, ample car parking. Come sit awhile, unwind, even go swimming or fishing you will not regret it. Gem of a place. Plenty of parking. Public toilets and a kids playground. Beautiful waterside. Worth a visit. 15/6/25: This is a free to stay parking area where Motorhomes and camper vans can stay over night. There are numerous fresh water taps on the concreted harbour walkways and a near by free to use public toilet. There is also a new shower/toilet facility which requires purchasing an Irish Waterways Cards from the near by pub ‘Paddy’s’ Bar’. Many people will park here and make use of the lake for sailing during the day. The area is well maintained with various green pathways around and about each with a theme of some description. It is a great spot to capture a glorious sunset of a summer evening. Lovely place for a walk. You can watch all the boats and yachts in the pier, as well as people sailing. The car park had loads of campervan parked, it seems a lot of people are hiking nearby and camping around. The place has facilities (multiple shower units and toilets) as well. Well maintained and clean. Plenty of wonderful cafes around, within short walking distance. It was such a lovely day and the water looked so very blue. 5 stars – A charming and peaceful harbour Terryglass Harbour is a real hidden gem at the northern end of Lough Derg! This small, well-kept harbour is located in a quiet, picturesque village and offers everything you could want as a boater or day visitor: clean mooring spots, tidy green spaces, picnic areas, and even a playground for children. The surroundings are stunning – perfect for a relaxing walk along the water or a peaceful picnic with views over the lake. The sunsets here are especially beautiful – truly worth seeing! Just a short walk away, you’ll find two excellent pubs (The Derg Inn & Paddy’s Bar), both offering great food, live music, and the warm welcome of a genuine Irish village. What makes this place special is the calm and authenticity – no mass tourism, just true Irish hospitality surrounded by beautiful nature. Whether you arrive by boat, bike, or car – a visit is always worthwhile. Great place to stop off on the boat. Shore power and water, toilet and shower block. Also has two great pubs. Lovely, clean and well maintained. 10min walk to a couple of pubs which serve food. Beautiful spot. Beautiful place, made all the better by take-away chips and coffee from Paddy's Bar (lovely staff by the way). Dedicated spaces to BBQ, plenty of benches around. Care and attention was put into the infrastructure and upkeep here. Worth a visit if passing by 🙂 Update: 27.05.23 - still beautiful 🤩 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
